    Air Fryers

It seems to me that “air-fryer” and “air-fryer oven” are being treated as if they were one and the same. They are really quite different. @jimmywangsays his air fryer oven pretty much replaces his oven. Looking at the model he bought that is not too surprising. It includes a rotisserie among other things. It’s a very different appliance from the basket type air fryer that began this topic. I only comment on this because I can get excited about what people are making in their air fryer only to discover that what we are talking about is a souped up countertop convection oven. Let the reader beware!
  2. I think poison centres are often operated from children’s hospitals because children are usually most likely to be poisoned by all kinds of means. I do not think it indicates that the victims of mushroom poisoning were necessarily children. Reading the article I get the impression that the victims were adults.
  3. I seem to think it was some sort of Bullet knock-off.

    Dinner 2022

That soup looks really good, Norm, and I appreciate the flexitarian option of some ham on the side.
  5. @blue_dolphinwill recognize the inspiration for this snack. Pan-toasted sourdough rubbed with tomato and sprinkled with some coarse salt.
  6. Thanks. I will be very much surprised if somebody here doesn’t take it for a spin. I am very much aware of electric pellet smokers. I have just never seen any advertised as though they were being used in some pristine wilderness. I was one of the early adopters of one of the Ninja small appliances (seen on T.V.?) and have never quite got over my scepticism of their technology despite plenty of evidence that I should suck it up.
  7. Yes. Their ad agency is expert at word twisting. Nevertheless one cannot deny there are numbers of people we know on here who have various Ninja gadgets and find them very appealing.

    The Fresh Pasta Topic

Such a pleasure to watch an expert ply his trade. Thanks so much for sharing this. I did not realize this was such an old post but my statement stands.
  9. Woodfire technology powered by electricity. Think about that. 😂 wonder where they found the outlet in that wonderful outdoor setting.
  10. Wow. I am so impressed with the variety of meals you’re providing. I hope things start to turn around for you soon. I would love to hear more about the salads.
  11. I am not sure how cheap it is although I see it is available on amazon.ca. The thing is it has to be the 3M micropore and there are a whole bunch of tapes that have similar names that don’t work worth a damn. to be fair the other person suggested green or perhaps blue painters’ tape but I never found it very durable in the freezer.
  12. Strangely the Kindle edition is coming up at $14.83 on amazon.ca for me. Perhaps because I have Prime? edited to add: No that is not it. I am not even signed in.
  13. Although I was dissed when I suggested it on another thread I now swear by micropore tape and a marker.
  14. Thanks. Makes a great read. She makes some useful comments about how to assess the value of scientific papers among other things.
  15. I don’t want to jump to any conclusions! Is the wine served in the type of vessel in which you display your sample? Or?
  16. If only it were that simple! No knee holes. Loss of leverage when sitting. As @liuzhounoted - much need to move. Wheeled chairs/stools offers other challenges. Sometimes if you are able to overcome these obstacles you are so exhausted that you cannot eat whatever it is you cooked. Oops. Now I see you covered most of these points. Sorry.
  17. What a great overview of Mexican cookbooks.
  18. Definitely looks different than your usual fare. Nice that you can change things up. I am so envious of your options for delivery.
  19. That’s impressive by anybody’s standards.
  20. The idea only occurred to me this morning! I had a vague idea that the book had appealed to a number of members when it was first released. A Google search of the site is much more satisfactory but it may not be available to you.
  21. Who knew we had a topic on cooking from this book? Reading through the threads related to this book I became at some point a bit Walt Whitmanish! I both loved and was much disappointed in the recipe for Beef-Sauced Hot Lettuce Salad.
  22. Thanks. I am sure I was not clear. I meant did the dish contain spicy pickled vegetables as well as the fresh green beans and the pork? (One of the edible dishes I can order from my “ Chinese” takeout).
  23. Curious about a couple of things. Did you order each dish individually or was this a set meal? The pork and green beans – here I can order dry fried green beans with or without meat and it always contains spicy pickled vegetables. Same? Yam bone soup - pork bone soup with yams?

    Lunch 2022

As I tried to say I am accustomed to using the word methi to refer to the dried variety. I was not suggesting that it applies to everyone. If I were to go into my local Indian store I would find methi on the shelves and fenugreek leaves in the fresh produce section.
