Can you not return them? At the very least the unopened package? I know the unhulled ones are used in Japanese cooking and Mr. Google suggests that some people do use them in baking as a replacement for the hulled variety. But if the taste is not to your liking then I would not suggest you do that.

We are not going to Newfoundland but @Kerry Beal and I are going to enjoy some Five Brothers cheese up in Manitoulin. We have both a young and an aged version to enjoy. It is very similar to a mature Comte. Very nice.

I am learning this: if I didn’t like it fresh I won’t like it any better frozen. Don’t use your freezer as a morgue. Ditch them now and reserve your freezer space for something you really want to eat.

It was a dirty job but somebody had to do it. It was an open jar of pickled herring needed to be finished up before I disappear for many weeks. Wash down with a few too many glasses of akvavit. I am paying the price.
