Then you’re not cooking the right things. Roasted vegetables will sometimes stick. Most things with a glaze tend to stick. At the moment I cannot bring to mind the one thing I make where this foil is essential. I’ll keep working on that. Sometimes of course it gets a lazy cook out of trouble.

Yes I sometimes get so involved in cooking I forget that my first love is and always will be language. When the two join up I am in heaven.

Sometimes the contents of one’s freezer can turn one into a culinary rebel. Basmati rice, “ramen” eggs, a drizzle of soy sauce, slick of butter and seasoned nori. But I am damned proud of those eggs.

Wow. That is new to me. The only liner that I use in the kitchen that is side specific is nonstick aluminum foil.

Miso is a marvellous ingredient even when not used specifically in Japanese cuisine. I am glad that I have access to quite a good selection.

Pretty much the same as yesterday with the addition of some pickled ginger and some pickled Asian pear with lemon.
