I have certainly never heard of this and it doesn’t sound wise to me. I would expect that you would exhaust the power of your leavener doing it this way. If you are concerned about your leavener being properly distributed then I think sifting it together with the flour is a better way to go. I look forward to input from others.

Why shameful? Nothing wrong with a good Salisbury steak. I still have fond memories of this from the summer.

It’s possible to work without one of these? Trust me you will never go back once you own one. My small one gets 10 times more use than my large one.

Yesterday, after many months, a new toy arrived. This morning was its maiden voyage/shakedown. Egg and shiitake mushroom onigirazu with a small tomato salad on the side.

Sometimes it’s whatever hits the spot. There is some synergism going on. Snickers is not my favourite bar but while shopping yesterday I found some individual one-bite bars and stocked up. No beer though. The beer in the fridge is barely drinkable (stocked for my adult kids who don’t seem to notice how awful it is).

It’s been a while but since we were in the area we opted for one of our favourite comfort foods—pho Kerry’s usual chicken and beef. My usual rare and well done beef. Shared accoutrements. These are always so fresh. Grilled beef fresh spring rolls. Vietnamese iced coffee for me. Even in winter I prefer my Vietnamese coffee cold. No photograph but Kerry is much more sensible and had hot tea.

Unfortunately it is all too plausible. If you are shopping in person you can quickly decide how to replace your chosen protein but when you’re ordering online such an option is not available. I was stunned the first time I discovered that I could not buy chicken thighs because they were out of stock online! Sheesh.

Thanks to a comment by @David Ross, I found this recipe. Omelet with ginger sauce served over shredded cabbage with some tomatoes and mayonnaise on the side.

Me too! I can buy corn starch but I can also buy corn flour and they are quite different.

Sat in my cupboard for four years. Opened it this morning. That’s about it. It was basically very boring. There are better ways.
