  1. And for break bakers, I recommend this Flour Whisk Love it for mixing together dry ingredients.
  2. I forgot to mention These i use thes all the time!
  3. Even though I've always been a big fan of Ina I have vowed to not purchase anymore cookbooks. I already have too many and they're heavy and bulky and take up too much room. However, I'm teetering toward this one. The ratings at Amazon are very good. Has anyone purchased this book?
  4. I love everything Christopher Kimball so I'll definitely be subscribing!
  5. I have this one and It works nicely and is of a good size (7-inches, I believe). (Wow, I just noticed the current price is. I don't recall exactly what I paid for it but it wasn't $18.
  6. I think he means that air got inside the package. I would open it, smell and then taste a bit. Then, if it looks, smells and tastes alright I'd repackage via Foodsaver. Mine keeps cheese practically forever.
  7. anna, I use mine primarily for bottled things like pickles and pickled peppers and such. Also they're really handy for anything that's hard to get at. I find uses for mine all the time mainly because I keep them in my tool caddy that's right on the counter. It's a nice gift for some who loves all things kitchen and who maybe already has most everything. I wouldn't part with mine.
  8. This may seem an unnecessary, extravagent item but it is amazingly useful: Fine Tongs
  9. I like Dishers.
  10. If I recall correctly, I think I did one each way and baked with the rack in the middle.
  11. I 've had my CSO for a few months now and everything has pretty much come out really well.....except for the cookies. The bake much too fast and brown too much. I've gone back to my conventional oven for them. Probably operator error but I just get better, more consistent results that way.
  12. I just got rid of a beautiful set of 3 stainless mixing bowls; I just never use them and I need to start downsizing. I have too much of everything, particularly kitchen ware because I have always loved the stuff way too much. I just don't know how to best dispose of all the stuff. In a smallish town there isn't much in the way of outlets for this sort of thing. Craigslist doesn't bring in enough to outweigh the trouble.
  13. My DH who was very picky normally actually loved Arby's Reuben Sandwich.
  14. My cookbooks are stored in another area of the house. What I do have is a four inch stack of 8x11" recipes piled in the corner of the counter. The pile just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I need to toss them and start over, I think.
  15. Sorry about the bad weather ruining your plans. Sounds like you're getting an early start, ayeh?
  16. I made a similar dish in my IP last week. Only I used country ribs instead of the cottage roll. And I slow cooked mine instead of PCing. This is one of my favorite meals in cold weather. I was disappointed however in that my boneless ribs turned out a bit chewy. I don't think they were fatty enough.
  17. Can't imagine an Applebee's not thriving; the here is about the busiest restaurant in town. The food is always good.
  18. Serious Eats just sent out a recipe for beef stew made in a pressure cooker. I thought it'd be ideal for those of with the IP as well. Beef Stew I just may have to try it this weekend!
  19. Anna, Did you like the bread well enough to make the recipe again? I'm thinking I might try this one using my new Platinum Yeast because I really want to try it out and see if it's worth using.
  20. Please let us know how it tastes, and if it's great we'd like to try the recipe!
  21. I just saw an item about this: Red Star I ordered some from Amazon because I'm so intrigued about it. I'd never heard of it before and it wasn't available in my local supermarket. Anyone here tried it yet?
  22. You need to grab that Zo if you can, assuming it's the two paddle model. I paid $200 new for the one I have and it's the best! You won't be disappointed. I've had several others but they can't compare.
  23. I am stunned! You have extraordinary endurance and skill!
  24. So I can understand this better; baking anything but bread, it's on the middle rack? Pizza, also on the middle rack?
  25. I've had a little experience so far my with new CSO. And I know if probably says in the manual (if I knew where I put it), but I'm never sure when I bake something if it should go on the lowest rack setting or in the middle. Can someone provide some advice, pls? Cookies, for example, Scones, etc.
