@liuzhou I’ve purchased bitter melon once. Could get past the level of bitterness. Any method of taming the bitterness?

    Dinner 2018

Had both my kids for dinner as well as my BIL. After spending the last two days looking at a multitude of wedding venues with my daughter, had to keep it simple More smoked chicken thighs with corn, potato salad and leaf salad

    Dinner 2018

Smoked a couple 4 packs of chicken thighs. Made a slaw and baked sweet potatoes. Side of extra chicken skin that was cut from the thighs which is always left attached. The skin was also off the smoker. The chicharrones was my favorite part of the meal
  9. I’m looking at sources of 2005 exceptional cask. Have a bunch of ‘04s but ‘05 is stellar. Thinking of heading back to Barbados next year and stocking up on what’s still available and what’s new. Customs was a breeze last time. Hope it’s the same And Barbados was a nice beach venue. I’m happy around the coast.

    Breakfast! 2018

My wife was gifted a loaf of sweet Greek bread by one of her patients. Burns too easily to make toast but made a dandy French toast this morning

    Figs!

I have a dehydrator and have often found some forgotten figs in the fridge that dehydrated on their own. Always a treat

    Boat Cookery

My only experience making meals on a boat has been making ceviche when fishing pretty far off shore
  14. Yes too juicy if cooked. I tend to freeze raw and have not had an issue doing that. Thawed it’s like fresh hope those cobs didn’t go to waste Shelby. Lots of flavor in those cobs.

@David Ross that meal looks delicious. I’m a big fan of Mexican oregano as well as Greek oregano. Both have a stronger flavor compared to the standard grocery store variety
  19. Wash most things with just water except melons. Especially cantaloupes. Since they sit on the ground and there have been too many cases of E. coli associated with melons they get soap and water and a spritz of vinegar before I drive a knife through them. It's just hard to do a great cleaning of lettuce due its fragile nature even though it's associated with many E. coli out breaks. Water rinses and spin dry. Sometimes a spritz of vinegar since its close proximity to dirt
  20. Not just the color which is gorgeous but the texture of the yolks looks amazing edited to add I like your whole though process for the dish. I do similar things. "This looks good and would work, toss it in".
