since we have two soaps here : if cilantro is cooked , i.e. the flavor is in , say , a broth is that soapy to you? I think AltonBrown in one of the newer GE made some sort of point about C being cooked effects those w the soapy gene less soapily

never tasted stinkbug. too challenging for me. fortunately I don't have the Soap gene.

Im wondering a few things : Chamber Vacuum Sealer - Chamber Vac Pro I $759.00 VACUUM CHAMBER WITH PUMP FOR SMALL RESTAURANTS Chamber Vacuum Sealer - Chamber Vac Pro II $799.00 VACUUM CHAMBER WITH OIL PUMP FOR SMALL RESTAURANTS these are the two more expensive chamber vacs , in a conventional configuration note that the 800 $$ one has an oil pump I can't find out if the vertical has an oil pump In not spend thius kind of mont for anything less than an oil pump. you will have to fix the non-oil pump evenbtually which I had to do w the Weston that looks a lot like : https://www.vestaprecision.com/collections/ibie-2019-featured-products/products/vacuum-sealer-vac-n-seal-pro-i way back when https://www.vestaprecision.com/collections/ibie-2019-featured-products/products/vacuum-sealer-vac-n-seal-pro-ii dry pump keep that in mind. reading a bit more carefully the vertical is a dry , not and oil pump. but an interesting idea save , and go for Oil.

Nice @Anna N "" I removed the corn cob pieces and then put the rest into the Thermomix. "" so what happened to them in the TRMX ? you didn't grind them up ? if not , did you choose to discard the well washed SP skins ? why not add them to ThePot and discard alter ? nice

@palo some time ago I recommended to the LunchLadies in the GTA a U-Haul for their trips to The Island that they so much enjoy\ Cant find it now for yu but it was a bit racy and dynanimc sooo U-Haul would work
-
@palo go figure buy 8 +++ get your Mule Team ( no Borax ) and move them down S of the B and sell them off a Truck !

@lemniscate world market is Cost Plus ? yes there is one very near me. I went their for the first time a few weeks ago and was impressed on some of the imported foods. that's a nmoce tip Ill make a note and look for MA's there I think a long long time ago there were small jars Cara Mia ? but I think those are only via the web these days. it must be very difficult to get rid of a layer or two of fibrous leaves \as these are probably mechanically processes two sets were OK , then three more were very fibrous , and I dissected them out it was the outer leaves.
-
@Smithy no problem at all. Im pleased I tried these. Ill just take them back.. I will try to take off a leaf or two and try again drained. Id love to find a jared artichoke ' bottoms ' that suit me. so the trial was worth it.
-
I sampled the artichokes. I was disappointed : the oil was flavorless soybean oil , probably w one drop of EVOO. and several layers of very fibrous leaves were not removed. its probably going back. I could remove a leaf or two , and drain the oil off and place in a dish w some real EVOO ....

this is a late lunch , 2 PM taken as a take-out from here : https://www.ricenoodlethaieatery.com/#home-section in the L Seafood Basil Pad Thai. spicy. calamari ( stir-fry , not crispy ) shrimp and scallop ( 1 ) next time Shrimp : plump and nice on the R : broad rice noodle w duck , Lime leaf and peppercorn. hot I love Thai food , and this seems far better than decent and they have Duck ! superb food. Im sure the LunchLadies dwouild not have too much trouble in the GTA getting = or better long commute for me for take-out. its at the other end of my town , and the food is superb. its in a nowhere tiny strip maul , and I discovered it as it had take over a Chinese restaurant that seems to have given up the ghost. the food is unusually good for any Thai restaurant , esp in the suburbs. very smaall 4 tables , and no beer license , so after the first superb lunch I and there , I take-out and have a very very cold Hoponius Union or 2 , in a Fz glass I decided to pass out menu's at Tj's, the Library , the FireHouse , and P{olive station Im going to die if this place does not survive. very pleasant staff ( one person ) and there has always been people from Thailand coming in or eating their on my trips.

but w inserts. if it passes the @Anna N testing I can see this might have a place in a small apartment. not a college dorm.

this AM @ TJ's : two items that were recommended , some smoked oysters , which I have not had in a while , and two Indian packs of Dahl-ish items. on rice some of these packs are quite nice. Packing changes from time to time.
-
I like the HC-MC. I keep one or so in the freezer , along w some of their Indian + / rice Fz stuff. there is a little heater in the HC-MC , not too much. I use the micro , and it comes out nice and creamy. and quickly.
-
@Margaret Pilgrim I grew up in the Bay Area South Im a Native Son, back when Im not sure TJ's excels at Fresh cheese : yes Nuts : Yes dried fruit : yes. Fz fish : just be careful here Ill post on my SV Cod Fz from Tj's soon and it decent unless you r catch your own
-
one nice thing about TJ's cheeses: their prices are always better than elsewhere they may not have what your a specifically looking for, might have something close enough or not but but always cheaper for much the same or same-enough thing.

@TdeV its $ 199 USD on Amazon now https://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-CSO-300N1-Steam-Convection-Stainless/dp/B01JRT2WOG you wont find it any cheaper I advise 1 + 1 = 2 you will have a spare. I don't work for AMZN or Cuisi bet the price goes up when you check. AMZN has a BOT on eG : when someone is interested here , the price goes up there.
-
yes indeed the toast Fx on the CSO is outstanding and well worth the price of the total mach9ine esp when on Sale.

ive done corned beef @ 140 F for 48 hrs. chilled then placed the cold pieces , saving the jus , on a cold Weber that Ive then cold smoked for 1 hour with wood pellets in a wood pellet holder. plenty smoky for me. re-baged w a little bit of the cold jus ,k 2 - 3 T / bag , vacc'd and Fz. makes an excellent smoked corn beef sandwich. I dint know what to call 140 CB that is very tender , in terms of done=ness no bark , but so easy to do.
