@blue_dolphin excellent points as a reasonably cheap introduction method , w all the drawback you have suggested it is a way to try to decide if home roasting improves your Personal Perfect Cup if it does , then based on Personal Economics one might move on to something more substantial or not

i personally think its an Economic Issue what have you done w the model you already have ? think about this. if you feel the newer model will refine your use based on the newer controls ,then wait for a sale. you are still iPotting until then the display does not improve your final iPot'sx results but its quite true : "" Just looking for an excuse to get new kitchen equipment. @KennethT Ive had similar Fz Bus from Ranch88 or more local small chinese / oriental groceries you are correct , no awards but you have them i sued to get fresh on BOS Chinatown , and they were spectacular. hope to do that again in the future. I doubt there is a Trader Joes near you but they have a few Fz " Thai " gyoza buns that are to die for. to pick up responsibly

MarketBasket has them from time to time for $ 0.69 no other requirement than paying and lugging them to your car. economics of grocery has changed and that was pre-Corona

there were no exceptional deals on CB @ Stop & Shop this year one package , @ $ 1.88 or so point w a $ 20 purchase. at MarketBasket , I picked up one point , $ 1.69 I didn't feel the urge to go into production . and tat was well before Corona.

i've used Penzey's granulated onion and granulated toasted onion for years its not powdered and i recommend them both btw they also have granulated garlic far far better than powered just keep them all tightly sealed

now not looking for trouble esp now but it dies find me .... its written in may books , and perhaps on the internet that " better commercial " pasta , aside from better ingredients to start with is better , not just w those brass dies that give the pasta a bit of a micro-fuzzy surface but because those better pasta "" Houses "" control the drying process so it takes a lot longer than the cheaper pastas I have not done personal studies to confirm this i did note some time ago there was a "" Top " Italian pasta that come in a brown bag. it was exuded w those brass dies. I can say that more sauce stuck to the pasta , but it was very tasty just not so much more me back then price etc. two glasses of table red were an equalizer I think

im just guessing here and why not ? if you Fz something w micro crystals and the whole item stays Fz , I cant see how any of the micro crystals get to be macro crystals , , unless they thaw and refreeze at a higher temp unless they have a mind of their own
