@ my Tj's they are very helpful viz seasonal vs terminated .
-
@kayb I wish I could. does the local TLCake seem ' wet ' ie ice cream melted built in ? would you , in your daily activities visit that bakery pics would be terrific [ed.: he can take it , but we have to see ]

@Duvel well , tell her Kudos for **** how **** she kept the Ooni ' Home : ' more room to haul back great stuff '

gas , w decent temp info and control and hard wood pellets works fine .
-
kettles are nice. especially if you get the add-on temp // fan control; SV like . https://bbqguru.com/storenav?CategoryId=1 there ae many these days.

I cold smoke after SV just because one thing BBQ // Oven Roasting ( baking ) // etc have is Aroma while cooking . I used to do vertical chicken on my 3 burner Weber w stents , on GrillGrates , w wood-pellet smoke 6 chickens fit 325 F until done one hour - 1.5 hours this was on my back deck . Hidden from View drove the whole neighborhood crazy. I did pass around 3 of the chickens ...

Great timer in Red easy to use too

@Duvel you are certainly correct re SV // BBQ and temperature. one thing SV does not do is Bark . too bad , I say.

@FlashJack I used to . I had a Makita rotary whetstone sharpening system , mostly for woodworking tools. https://www.amazon.com/Makita-98202-Horizontal-Wheel-Sharpener/dp/B0000223JC but it did knives very well I made some thick circular plywood blanks , the same size as the \three water stones . I glued on leather , cut to fit : smooth and ' rough ' I charged the rough w a green sharpening stick and that worked very well. some of my blanks were stolen and i could not repack the , so that was that

@Duvel after thinking about i9t : it might be possible that your Smoker , hight be smoking at a temp not favored by Ribb-ologists . if there is a lowest setting . what might be the temp in the middle of the top 2/3'ds , you know thermodynamic wise ? then work with that ( for a while .... ) cheers.

re: Ceramic Rods I have this to add re CR's I have been using EdgePro set up for some time ( I tough up using a DiamondRod , from JewelStick ) I ask for their advice re angle etc when I got my Watanabe knives . the recommended technique from EP is to more or less very lightly , pull the ceramic rod over the finished edge once . They do not recommend doing this w Japanese or more specifically , Watanabe knives I don't thick too much about the reason but its want I do , ie w Watanabe , no ceramic rod.

Interesting : https://grow.acorns.com/aldi-trader-joe-walmart-target-where-do-staples-cost-most/ I(m betting generic CkBr's are in a different category than Tj's which I don't buy , but TJ's might be organic etc. Ill have to stop by Aldi more often. and its 5 minutes closer.

Ive had the lasagna you mentioned before I recall its good Ill look next time , @cdh
-
P.S.: @cdh which was the lasagna you enjoyed ? thanks
-
@cdh a fellow TJ's lasagna student ! I noted recently , that there is a Family Sized Fz lasagna Ive enjoyed the refrigerated ' meat ' version several times , and wished TJ's had some very good béchamel , to pour over that . so has anyone tired the Fz Family Sized ? this may or may not be what was in the Fz case at TJ's but , something like that ?
-
today : this is my second TL cake from TJ's. the first was inhaled 2 days ago . if like ' cake and ice-ream ' w/o surgar-ie frosting this should be a consideration . if you had 3L cake from a HIspanic bakery I can't say if this is even close to that. but , its a yellow cake w vanilla and something else flavoring and the cake is wet , the melted ice cream it right there in the cake ! I love it . I asked if it was ' seasonal ' and you bet , If I really like someting its seasonal . Id enjoy hearing how this cake compares w a hispanic bakeries mostly on the the intensity of the 3L flavoring .

@rrigreid as @gfweb suggested make sure a BBQ is OK locally you are not going to ge anything better than a Weber w your budget and indeed a 3 burner Weber @ HomeDepot is $ 639 . and that's w the gas tank under the side and not concealed gas grills drop off dramatically in quality if its not a Weber a 2 burner Weber : https://www.homedepot.com/p/Weber-Spirit-II-E-210-2-Burner-Propane-Gas-Grill-in-Black-44010001/302976462 $ 458.

I could not make sense of the Umami setting. my 3-cup induction does not have it and I knew this in advance . I settled for GABA . 3 to 3.5 hours ! I though I might add a few drops of RB40 and pretend that was similar to an Umami setting .
