In April I posted about the lid blowing off my 13" USA pain de mie pan. After a bit of back and forth with them, they were going to send me a shipping label so I could ship the pan to them, they would fix the pan and return it. As they did not mention who paid for the shipping I asked them that question. I figured if I had to pay for the shipping costs I would not bother. I got an answer back today. They stated that FOR THEIR CANADIAN CUSTOMERS, CANADIANS HAVE TO PAY SHIPPING COSTS. Gee, aren't we special! However, they have decided to send me a new pan instead and I can keep the old one. With what's going on, don't know when I will actually get it, but I have to say I'm pleased with their response. The one I have is perfectly usable, without the lid.

@Shelby now that @gfweb mentioned it, I remember you doing that. Do you remember when? I have gone through a number of pages and can't find it.

@Shelby That crust looks really good. I quit trying to make pie dough years ago. It was a always tough. -
Has anyone ever had the steam function quit?

A kindred spirit.

@RWood "but mine is currently hiding in the bedroom, which it does when we're not using it" Are you related to @JoNorvelleWalker? I think that's where she stores a lot of stuff.

I know. I'm also now thinking my post isn't relevant to the topic.

I rarely eat breakfast although mid-morning I'll sometimes have a muffin. For lunch, I often eat breakfast type foods such as oatmeal and a handful of grapes or a banana. I also like greek yogurt mixed with chopped fresh fruit such as pineapple with bran buds mixed in with it. Looks like a mess, but I like it. Breakfast also sometimes shows up for lunch in the form of poached or fried eggs on toast. Pretty boring stuff.

I had a look at the Sysco site. I'm not interested in buying the quantities that you get when you order an item but I read that they are thinking of re-packing some things. If they do, I'd be interested in some of their offerings. Thanks for posting this.

Thanks. I sprung.

I read them.

Interesting. I've never heard of them.

One thing about the warranty. When they replaced mine, the warranty on the replacement was only for the warranty time left on the replaced model. I was surprised because I naively thought the replacement would come with a full warranty.

When we lived in our house I had an Electrolux induction range. No noise. I currently have a Thermador induction cooktop - no noise. I also have the Control Freak and I can't hear it either.

Welcome home. It's been great travelling along with you.

In Canada we would call what you show a crumpet. They are fairly thin, and so cannot be split in half and honey and butter are the two best partners for a toasted, warm, crunchy on the outside crumpet.

@Matthew.Taylor Very nice! I have never had any luck making those. Either the crust is too hard to cut through or the chocolate shatters when I cut into it. Yours look perfect.
