All this is very impressive.

John was forever "misplacing" his glasses so I bought this: https://www.hammacher.com/product/lost-glasses-locator

Love the fact that Marco Polo is in that shot! He stays close? Like @Kim Shook i always thought I'd like for us to buy an RV and travel around. John wasn't so sure. So we rented a trailer in an RV resort (if that's the right term) for a week to try it out. We arrived on a Saturday and left before the week was up. The final straw for him was when he had to sidle into the (half) bathroom sideways to shave. He is tall, so also kept banging his head on stuff. 'Nuff said.

I got home from my shopping yesterday to find a long stemmed flower in a beautiful vase along with a chocolate bar at my door, courtesy of my next door neighbour. In conversation with her later, she told me the vase is mine to keep.

I thought I heard something............

Welcome to the forum!

Hello and welcome. Where abouts in the Maritime are you from?

I used to take 1/2 grapefruit, drizzle with honey and broil it. Thanks to my hypertension drugs and statins, I've been told to knock of the grapefruit. Whenever the urge strikes, I don't give into it but this little wee voice pops up and says " but would 1/2 a grapefruit maybe twice a year be so bad"?

@Smithy The Russell Williams restaurant is a favourite of a lot of people who live in a nearby retirement residence, John's mom being one of them. She used to like to go there for lunch whenever we went to see her and she really liked the place. Us, not so much as the food isn't that good. However, we kept going there because it made her happy, and because it made her happy, it made us happy. Then one day it so happened that we went to the Rose Garden. The food and atmosphere is much better than the diner (like real tablecloths). She preferred it as well so that is where we go now.

Russell Williams, the murderer, has nothing to do with the restaurant. Two entirely separate entities.
-
Plus, it beats Russell Williams.🙂

We have eaten at The Rose Garden a few times. I remember the food as being tasty enough, and the setting was nice. When we go to visit John's mom we have taken her there.

I use the whooooooole thing!

I have the same one. It too was part of a set but that is the only piece I have left. The best potato masher!

Maybe you should have asked "What kind of an education do ewe think those kids get"?

@Smithy Corrected name of cheese producer and added a link to a picture of the cheese.

https://www.dadcooksdinner.com/pressure-cooker-macaroni-and-cheese/ This is what I use. I don't use evapourated milk because I can't stand the stuff, I use regular milk. The cheese i use is made by MacLaren and is called Imperial Cheese. It comes in a round red box. It is a processed sharp cheddar which blends in nicely and doesn't leave oil slicks. Also, I halve the recipe and it's enough for the two of us. Here is a picture of the cheese container. https://www.summerhillmarket.com/product/auto-draft-127/

@Smithy For years I made mac 'n cheese from a recipe in my very first cookbook, The Good Housekeeping Cookbook. I still have the book, some almost 50 years later. Using that recipe it would get baked with bread crumbs on top. I now make it in the IP. For crunch I brown panko in butter until it is nice and brown and that gets put on the mac 'n cheese once it's plated. Few dishes are used and I like the result just as much as doing it "the old way".

@Kim Shook The crumb in that loaf looks lovely. Was the recipe one that came with the machine?
-
Me too. I chose to laugh.
-
@Smithy I just looked up your location on a map. You are quite a ways away from home. How long will it take you to get there?
-
Those look like beautiful bottles.
-
Yuck. Must have been quite odorific.
