    Popsicles

I agree!!!!! Sell them! I'm drooling. It's like two thousand degrees here. All I want is wine and a Popsicle.
  4. Misfits Didn't order the popcorn--I had ordered some of those Terra Veggie chips to try them out. The popcorn is pretty good--probably better than the veggie chips lol. The strawberries smell really good, like actual strawberries. Imperfect Our tomatoes are abundant...but still very green due to late planting, hence the tomato based products purchased. We will see if they are any good. No problems with either shipment.

@Kim ShookThe dressing was just the usual--mayo, bit of sour cream, lots of fresh dill, splash of cider vinegar, bit of sugar, salt and pepper. I need to quit eating cucumbers so I can start some pickles, but they are so good it's hard to stop. @TropicalseniorYour meal sounds divine. The liberkaese looks very good. And Basque cheesecake! We dug up the russet potatoes recently--yes we are trying to cut back on eating them, but oh it's hard. I've never had better fries than these. So creamy on the inside, perfectly crunchy on the outside. Sandwiches too...but the fries were the star attraction. First sweet corn from the garden. This is silver queen. I like the nirvana better, but I threw a few SQ seeds in this year too. My first ever cottage pie made with venison. Very filling. Pork enchiladas last night
  6. If the setting is on keep warm, it also releases.
  7. At least my legacy here will be for that cause 😁
  8. I'm literally drooling right now. You have such a way with food. It's funny...an hour ago I got Deep Run Roots out and began leafing through it. It's that time. And I'm already overrun with squash lol.
  9. Last of the potatoes dug. First delicious cantaloupe. AND the first--and only so far-- Shishito pepper!!! 😁

    Dinner 2021

Hot hot hot here. Excessive heat warnings etc. I'm sitting here trying to figure out dinner for tonight. All I really want is one of @blue_dolphin's popsicles and a big fat margarita on the rocks. Meanwhile....a few dinners..... Roasted chicken, @Jaymes'squash and some sweet corn from our farmer. Corn was decent but not as good as ours hopefully will be. Quesadillas to use up some leftover steak One of Ronnie's favorites--just a pork butt in the slow cooker with carrots, potatoes and gravy I had a couple bites, but I mainly had this pasta salad Catfish and okra Venison stroganoff, beans from our friends and a cucumber salad
  11. I, too, did a double-take. I'm so sorry and I want to give big hugs to her husband, friends and family. We will miss you, Dee. A lot.
  12. Thanks so much everyone! Potatoes can still be eaten....just not as many and since we have our own that we grew, the store bought got neglected. I think I'll go through them again and throw out more and just do a cottage pie and maybe a bit of mashed to put in the freezer. Freezer space is not unlimited around here.
  13. I have about 5 lbs of store bought russet potatoes that are on the verge of going bad. We have cut back on eating potatoes due to health reasons which were discovered after we planted a ton of our own potatoes. Anyway....ideas welcome. We don't eat a lot of hash browns..... Can I make mashed potatoes and freeze them..I dunno.
  14. Absolutely gorgeous. This is my kind of place. I love the tea cup that they use to scoop the buds.
  15. The garlic in my pickle crocks always turns green during pickling. Much greener than yours. It was shocking the first time, but, like you said, it's not harmful at all.
  16. I had just washed them and hung them there to dry out a bit. They are in a bowl in the kitchen now.
  17. We use a lot of onions. I put them in large ziplock and keep them in the fridge. They last a while that way.
  18. Dug a whole bunch of potatoes and pulled a bunch of onions a couple days ago. Some friends have green beans that are growing like crazy so they dropped some off. Beautiful beans. One of Ronnie's daughters works at a place that sells garden veggie plants among other things. Over the weekend she texted that they were getting ready to throw out all of the plants that didn't sell and asked if we wanted some. Ronnie told her maybe a couple of eggplants and a couple of peppers and tomatoes. She rolled up and her car was packed lol. We gave some to my friend and my brother and sister in law. I know it's late in the season, but what the heck. Why not plant them. Tomatoes Like flat after flat of all kinds of peppers. SHISHITO peppers!!! I planted like 12 of those. Also, cayenne, like 18 habanero, 18 white habanero, 18 Caribbean something or others, tobasco, bells....on and on and on. No one in their right mind needs this many hot peppers lol. Tons and tons of eggplants Basil and oregano I decided to pot instead of plant in the garden hoping they would last longer. Also, they are pretty. I think we planted around forty pepper plants. Jalapeño, shishito, cayenne, one habanero, a few bells. Oh and eight eggplants. My back is killing me.

You're so nice! I need to be like you and try new recipes. I'm just so blah that the same old things are easier.

    Dinner 2021

I love @Kim Shook's posts always! @btbyrdI had forgotten about that new pasta shape. I remember having the window open for days when I was trying to decide whether to buy some. I am a pasta freak, but I didn't order. Wish I would have now because yours looks so good. @Ann_TThat shrimp looks like it just jumped out of the water and into the cocktail. I'd love some of that right now. I've been terrible about planning dinner lately. UGH. My appetite hasn't been great for some reason so that's a lot of the reason....or maybe I'm just so sick of my own cooking lol. Found a smallish pork butt in the freezer so I threw it in the pressure cooker with the usual suspects to make pork enchiladas with. Have a lot leftover that went back into the freezer for an easy meal. Also made a double batch of enchilada sauce so that's frozen too. My go-to when I have nothing thawed out: Wings. Hot wings, the first okra, squash etc. from the garden. Salad and venison cheeseburger pizza. Yesterday, although still hot was thundery and raining all day. The only thing that sounded good was lamb stew. So that's what happened.
  23. Imperfect A couple of the poblanos got majorly beat up....but the rest are gorgeous again. I didn't order the peanuts. I didn't get the sourdough loaf or the jalapeños that I did order. Kind of disappointing because I have a ton of roasted peanuts.....but, the mood I'm in today, I don't feel like complaining. I can't remember if there is a place online to choose letting them replace an item or just not getting the item at all. Misfits I tried the fish-meat option this week. 4 ice packs were in there along with a very insulated bag. Ice packs were all still frozen. Shrimp were frozen. Yellowtail was mostly frozen. Of course, I haven't eaten any yet, but very satisfied with how it shipped in summer heat.
  24. I LOVE these.
  25. I hope you continue to post about your experiences. I like knowing the good and the bad and I think others do too. I've said before that I thought I wouldn't buy anything during the summer months but here in KS the lettuce is almost done due to heat...I don't grow celery etc. So, it's still a welcome option to have especially now that both places have options such as pasta etc. that you can round out your order to meet the minimum price.
