  1. Kind of boring lol but I do love my new purple rubber ice cube tray! I had some onions going south so I made Vivian's R-Rated onions and froze them. After frozen I popped them out and vac packed them. Handy.

  4. Ronnie picked our first one a couple days ago. I laid it on the arm of the chair on the porch. Chum had a nice snack 🙄 There are tons of little baby ones so hopefully by next week.

  6. The website says that the mandarins are grown in California. They had stickers on them, but they drive me nuts so I remove them immediately lol. A lot of that will stay good for a couple of weeks. Potatoes will last longer. We use a lot of limes and lemons. The avocados live in the fridge so they are slow to go bad. I might skip next week...then again Independence Day is coming up so they might have something tempting. Salmon is in the brown packages.

    Ronnie's little green house tomatoes are doing so well. Very sweet and good. Like summer bursts in your mouth. We are eating a lot of salads. Had some venison burger left over so I made a few meatballs Used a precious jar of Palisade peaches that I canned to make a peach crisp for dessert Last night was steak night. My favorite beef cut used to be the filet, but it changed ribeye over the years. However, I was hungry for a filet so I bought two small ones from Imperfect Foods. They weren't a thick cut but boy they were good. Nice and tender. Ronnie had venison. Here is mine: Our first red potatoes from the garden that I roasted in butter and lemon juice with just a sprinkle of fresh parm on top and the usual salad to go with.

    Thank you so much! It changes a bit each time due to what veggies I have or don't have, but here is the basic recipe: About a pound of white fish filets cut in small pieces Fresh lime juice to cover fish filets in a bowl Leave the fish in lime juice for at least 15 minutes. I've left it in for an hour before with no ill effects. I've seen a recipe that says to marinate them overnight but that seems like too long. Drain lime juice and add: Celery, chopped Jalapeno, chopped Onion, chopped If you have good tomatoes add one or two, chopped Sliced black olives Sliced stuffed green olives 2 T. juice from green olives 4 T. of hot salsa--or more to taste Garlic Pepper Salt Cumin Fresh cilantro Stir. Devour.

    Thank you! I appreciate both you and @weinoo helping me out. It is so expensive, but.....I've said a million times here. I don't travel. I don't buy expensive clothes or makeup etc. So. This is the fun stuff for me. AND my mom will just love it I hope. It's weird that the rice is the complaint though, right

    Yeah. Now that I know I wasn't wrong about the rice. Definitely making my own next time and I'll try not to feel guilty about wasting the rice they send.

    I'm glad you said this! I didn't comment because I don't have hardly any sushi expertise, but the rice wasn't good imo. We all know that most of my sushi comes from the grocery store--they do make it fresh in front of you and they do a great job--and I like that rice. I've also made sushi rice here at home several times. I told my mom that I wished I could opt out of paying for their rice and just make my own here. One caveat I gave them was that I had to, of course, reheat the rice for like thirty seconds in the microwave --per their instructions. I thought maybe the rice being shipped etc. might have made it sub-par. It was slightly hard\dry....I don't like gummy rice but this needed more stick. And, it didn't have hardly any vinegar\sweet flavor. I don't want it over powering, but this was more like just plain rice.

    Yeah...I'm not saying it wasn't fresh...but maybe uni is something that needs to be like scooped from the water and on to your plate lol. It was ok. It was a big portion, but it was also dang expensive. Let's just say I didn't love it enough to spend that much again.

    I almost messaged you and @weinoo to ask if you guys knew this place, but I didn't because I was getting it whether it sucked or not LOL. The uni was from Blue Ribbon too. They have no other description besides just "uni". Now I'm hungry for it all again.
  17. Imperfect. No odd items in this box lol. Two Mandarins got smashed somehow and the green onions are on the edge of rotting, but I used the bad ones up last night. Not worth complaining...

    For the first time in way over a year and a half Ronnie went out of town on a two night fishing trip in Oklahoma. He drove....stayed in his own hotel room....fished with a buddy and the guide. We felt like it was safe. He came home with a HUGE amount of fish and had a really good time. Since I was relegated to stay home and baby sit--well furry baby sit--I informed him that I was ordering sushi from Goldbelly. Expensive. Yes. But I've been drooling for sushi during the whole pandemic and even before. Also, hopefully my mom is coming at the end of summer and I wanted to test it out and see if I liked it so I could order it again when mom is here. She loves sushi like I do, and like me, rarely gets to eat it. Everything was in great shape when it arrived. I didn't get pictures of it all. It comes with a sushi rolling mat--already have one but you couldn't elect to have them not send it, sushi rice, cute little bottle of tamari Excellent wasabi, pickled ginger, little containers of sliced green onions and jalapeño, a really nice avocado, eel sauce and nori sheets. Shrimp, salmon, hamachi OH MAN this was good. Like butter. Sweet. They include two crispy rice cakes to make their crispy rice appetizer--fry the cake in a bit of oil on both sides. Top with spicy tuna mix--which is also included. Top that with avocado slice, eel sauce and a hot pepper. Heavenly. Ignore my side inside out rolls. I should have stuck with the regular kind. I also ordered salmon roe, and a container of spicy scallops. I ate sushi for two days straight. OH and I really splurged and got some Uni. First time ever tasting it. .....not my favorite but it was ok. Definitely going to do this again when mom comes. Minus the uni lol. The evening Ronnie got home I made a salad and venison cheeseburger pizza Next day I cleaned up the mountain of fish he brought home. Mostly bass. A few blue cats. Had to fry some up for dinner His greenhouse plants are making a bunch of cherry tomatoes now Had to make ceviche last night along with RG beans and venison enchiladas
  19. I've never had super expensive caviar, but I've had some mildly expensive. SO good. I'm a purist. Just give me a spoon --I think they are supposed to be made out of Mother of Pearl. Blini and creme fresh for every third bite or so. Icy cold champagne. I seem to be mentioning @kayba lot lately lol. But, she likes to take baby potato halves and spread caviar on top. They look delicious.
  20. We get tiny limes, too. Ronnie makes a vodka tonic with them. So, we do have a use for them...albeit it takes like three to get enough juice lol.
  21. I totally agree, of course, on anything spoiled...but.....small limes and potatoes fit in to the misfits\imperfect model imo. Not arguing with you AT all. We all have different opinions and views.
  22. I've been wavering all day. I told Ronnie about it and I didn't get a very favorable response lol. We have a lot of fish...but that's SUCH a good deal. And spot prawns! And salmon.....Even if I just did two boxes...... However it is HOT here and the shipping makes me nervous.
