Getting some nice baskets full of gardenage. Need to dig the last of the potatoes but I couldn't do it this morning. The humidity is about to do me in.

Fished a cucumber out to test and they are done!!! I didn't do anything different but this batch is really good. Decided not to can them...they keep a long time in the fridge. Strain the pickles reserving the brine. Rinse the pickles well. Bring the brine to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes then let cool completely. Pack jars with more dill heads and pour brine in. Pickles!!

Maybe the plant will snap out of it. Don't give up hope yet. Some of ours do that --especially with too much rain. Peppers take a while to come on. I'm just now getting some shishitos and jalapeños. I wish I had another steamer pot to do. It certainly hit the spot but I want more! @Ann_TCongratulations on the smoker! I bet you will use it a ton. @TicTacI have lobster envy. What a great price! I can't remember the last time I ate one. First shishitos from the garden!! They were pretty spicy. Good stuff. Smoked chicken sandwiches The rest of the amazing brisket Ran out of my frozen spaghetti sauce so I made some from my canned tomatoes last night. Needed to use up some squash.

Thank you for taking the time to do this! I'm sorry about your luggage. That is not fun .

You just can't beat it--when you're hungry for it. Red potatoes that are bigger work great, too. Just quarter them. I don't have new peas, either. I used regular frozen ones. Depending on how much you want to make, of course, but here's a rough recipe: Quarter potatoes or if small, don't. Place in pot. Cover with water and bring to boil. Simmer until you can push a fork in and they are tender. Drain. In a large skillet with a lid melt: 2 TB butter Add: 2 TB chopped onion or to taste--I like a little more onion Saute until tender. Add 3 TB of flour. Salt and pepper to taste. Stir until blended. Add milk or cream--I do like a cup or so of whole milk....probably at least two...and stir until thickened. Of course you could use cream...but that's a high commodity around here lol. You can also do 2% milk. Might need to up the flour or lessen the milk? Make a nice white sauce--gravy. Add the frozen peas and drained potatoes. Cover with lid and let sit on low or off until peas are done. Season with more salt and pepper to taste.

I just want it all. As I sit here trying to think of what to make for dinner when nothing sounds good except for what the Kim's ate. -

I hope everyone had a great holiday (the US folks and Canada). All the rest of ya's I hope you had a great weekend Sunday Ronnie smoked a chicken. Hit the spot. Garden tomatoes!!! Squash casserole Creamed peas and new potatoes Getting tons of squash and digging a LOT of potatoes. Fruit salad for dessert And then for the 4th. The best brisket I've ever had. I'm not a huge brisket person....I eat it and I usually like it, but I don't sit around and dream about it lol. Now, however, I will be dreaming about this. Ronnie cold smoked it for 4 hours at 150F and then I SV'd it for 24 hours at 155F. I did the SVing beginning Saturday evening at 7 so it was done Sunday evening at 7. I then threw it in the fridge. Reheated it last night for an hour or so at 150F. O M G. Tender. Juicy. Ronnie said he's never seen me eat so much meat in one sitting ever 😬. Potato salad (good) and corn (ick) to go with. Beans and tomatoes too. Homemade ice cream and cherry pie for dessert

Brrrrrrrr????? But beautiful. -
Totally @weinoo's fault. One of these should be here in a week or so. Been eyeing them for about a year. A Moulinex 5 disc shredder. Because my food processor just wasn't enough 🤣
-
That is beautiful!

OMG. Brillant idea. Yep. Thank you!!!
-
EXACTLY but I may need to move in with you if he finds out

It is good--I do the same. And yeah, it comes with crispy wonton things. Easy and good.

I am bookmarking this as backup if I get caught.

They are mostly skinless and all boneless. I never bought them until Misfits came into my life and they are just so handy when I want some chicken in something--such as that Asian chicken salad. Ronnie is right... he can skin and bone out thighs much cheaper from a whole chicken or a bag of chicken quarters....BUT. He never does and so......I just buy some once in a while to have. They are $4.87 total for 14 ounces. Not cheap. But ....sigh.
-
Yeah, sausage. I don't remember what kind. A little spicy. Good. No chunks of gristle. I use the bag of dressing that comes in the Asian salad kit 😬
-
Not pictured: Two packages of chicken thighs. Had to hurry up and get them in the freezer downstairs because the price sends Ronnie into orbit. 🙃

Breakfast on Wednesday night Thursday I did something fun. I ordered a steamer pot from a place on Goldbelly. Arrived still super cold with dry ice. Comes in this pot Cheddar Bay biscuits to go with I have been so hungry for clams. All of this was just perfect. Ate all the clams and most of the shrimp. A few legs were left. I would do this again for sure. Last night I did another Asian chicken salad with egg rolls, potstickers and some pork belly.

It was small. We bought a whole loin and then cut it into "us" size pieces. 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. max. Congrats on Mr. Kim's tomatoes!
