Well, I never get any wrapped presents from my husband. He is anti-wrap.

Oh...goodness....if this is for me, I totally do not want to become a land baron and I give the Drummonds all their props for doing what they do. My whole point was that I don't think that Ree would be where she is right now without help money-wise---like paying for her site to come up first when searching for certain food recipes. And, one of her recipes totally failed for me so *shrug*. To each their own . I will bow out of this conversation.

I couldn't find a newer thread....I swear there was one last year, but google isn't giving it to me. Anyway....guess what just showed up at my door from my mom and step dad? Soooooooo excited!

I finally got it together and made time to make some cornbread to go with last nights soup. My mom and stepdad gifted us this wild boar bacon for Christmas and I was dying to try it (really good stuff btw) First I made the batter using this recipe (I didn't have near enough cottage cheese but I just used what I had and it didn't seem to hurt) Then, I used the Lodge to cook the onions a bit so they were soft. Then I cooked the bacon for about 5 minutes--all of this done on the stove burner. Next you pour the batter over the top I popped it into the CSO at 400F for 15 minutes. Next time I'll check it at about 11 minutes...but it was still awesome. Ronnie said it's the best cornbread he's ever had. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the bacon. Flipped over on a plate

Oh I am so with you. I read her blog years and years ago before she became "famous" and it was mildly entertaining.....then, I followed her recipe to a "T" on how to cook a turkey ...epic fail. If you do a google and look up the Drummonds in Oklahoma you will see that they own a ton of land (which I say good for them--but she didn't rise to her fame on her cooking alone IMO). For added irritation you should listen to how she pronounces balsamic as in balsamic vinegar. Makes me want to throw myself off a building.

Oh it's so beautiful!!! Yeah, just the mention of "contractor" sends me screaming and running as fast as I can to get away. I'm with you on the square/level thing, too. Our 100 year old farmhouse has some serious issues with that stuff lol.

I like my steaks very rare and I do 125F. Most times I do not sear mine....it ends up over cooked for me.

I, too, wondered where you have been! That's just awful! No more falling! Your meals--I don't even want to call them meals lol--sounds just so unappealing. I hate to even ask you what they served for Thanksgiving!

I thought I heard the screams of pumpkins being forced off the table......... All I can say is that I feel much better now. (and the chicken looks so good...maybe chicken for dinner tonight here)
-
You know I was just teasing you right? We could paint 'em red and green........
-
Yeah that chicken looks awesome. I will have to try that.
-
Oh your deviled eggs look so good and you even piped in the filling. (Chris, we gotta get those pumpkins off the table )
-
I could eat that right now for breakfast.

Wow. I love your kitchen and all of the candies etc. look so good. I know you guys must be exhausted!
-
Just a quick note: The lime melt aways are really good eaten right out of the freezer while trying to unearth something for dinner.
-
I bet you guys are getting tired! You've already done so much!

UGH I would be more than put out.....a brand new trailer....they just don't make things the way they used to. I'm glad that you can limp through, at least until you get to a repair place. Sigh.
