Thank you! I love this time of year when I am motivated can keep the garden looking nice. Yeah, we don't let on that the bench isn't for her. I'll snap a picture when we get the grill put together and put on the porch We have a deep chest freezer in the garage, an upright freezer in the basement and two fridges with freezers. So four ? Or two and two halves?

Thank you! Is there any other/better way? The guys texted that they are on their way home. With tons of fish. And they are hungry. They requested turkey sandwiches and more onion dip and chips. Excuse the paper plates. I am on dishwashing strike for a couple hours.

Our soil does have some sand in it. Right now the weeds are pretty easy to pull. If I let them overtake, it's a lot harder. Hogweed gets really tough later in the summer. Ronnie has sprinklers set up all around the perimeter. In a couple weeks we will lay soaker hose down on the tomatoes.

Good morning! Almost afternoon already. Phew. The guys went fishing today. I hope they catch enough for dinner! I weeded the garden. I'm glad to have gotten it done. I don't think I've shared the picture of the bench that Ronnie made me so that I can sit and view the garden. My other one rotted over the winter. Chum approved. Anyway, here is my view of the garden this morning from the bench. I had Ruffles and onion dip for breakfast. I am such a healthy eater.

My guys were super exhausted . They have worked so hard. They sat outside on the new porch/deck and enjoyed the nice evening. I have to admit, I wish I could have sat out there too! But, I was cooking and that's just the way it goes Ann's honey garlic chicken with some of my cowboy candy to make it a bit more spicy I did pork belly in the IP with some broth from the Asian market....always good. And I had 4 egg rolls left in the freezer so that was perfect. My plate I didn't get a picture of our friends plate...but he declared this the best meal of the week so far I've done as many dishes as I can, I'm pooped and this DAMN poison ivy is the pits. See ya'll in the morning and thanks for reading

OMG then you come on over! It really was good.....just not gourmet or anything.....but I'm not a gourmet..... No no the okra was from last year I only have one jar left. Hopefully the okra grows this year. Nah.....well, homemade bread just does trump store bought....

The porch is done......it looks A-MAZ-ING. I can't even express my thanks to our friend. He does too much. He's currently mowing....he claims it's relaxing lol. Anyway, with work being mostly done, tomorrow can be a fun day (I hope) of fishing. So, I made breakfast again--I asked if they wanted something different, but they opted for the same (except using my homemade bread instead of store bought bagels). I cannot seem to make eggs without breaking a yolk I'm off to start cooking--opted for Ann's chicken and probably some lo mein and some pork belly.....I was going to make egg rolls but discovered I'm out of wrappers. I have 4 still in the freezer so we will make do.

We love love love asparagus. Before we got married we lived in a little rental house out in the country and I couldn't resist planting a nice sized patch of asparagus. I thought there would be no way anyone would ever NOT want asparagus. They plowed it up right after we left. Sigh. At my house now, one of the first things I did was plant asparagus again. Over the years it's expanded quite a bit. Now, we can never move because I cannot give up my patch. Anyway, we usually eat it very simple-- steamed with lemon, butter and salt. This is another favorite. Steam your asparagus. Make some Italian dressing --I use a mix from Penzy's. Lay asparagus on a platter, top with diced hardboiled eggs and capers and then drizzle with dressing. Good stuff.

Ok, so, I'm a little hesitant to post this........ it's so gourmet and fancy that I'm sure you all will be on my doorstep in order to partake. Please, please try and restrain yourselves. Onion dip, Ruffles, pickle roll-ups and pickled okra from the garden.

I love RK treats and I can't make them. They always suck. Hard as hockey pucks. -
Everything is about a month behind here. We had very little spring. Went from cold to summer in like a day.

I like your way of thinking....

You may have hit the nail on the head

Oh good job!!!! I truly know how hard it is to keep up with the weeding. And yeah, the damn bermuda does awesome in the middle of the garden sigh. I need to get out there. I weeded Tuesday morning, but it's already needing it again--this poison ivy is in a spot on my leg that makes bending over and weeding extremely uncomfortable.

Thank you!!! Our existing grill....is pretty sad looking. It will be so nice to have this one. I still can't believe he did this for us.

Well, yeah, I could, but I'm hoping they will take some time off and go fishing tomorrow.....I am hungry for fried fish...and I have some frog legs...... So much food, so little time lol. I forgot to mention this, but Tuesday, just after our friend arrived, my UPS man pulled up and out of the brown van came a Weber grill! Our friend bought it for us. Yes, he does waaaaaaaaaay too much for us. So, I think we will have venison burgers on Saturday night. It's been quite a long time since I've had a burger from the grill. I'm already dreaming about it.

Good morning! I can't believe how fast this new porch is being built. Not sure where the guys are right now.....we've had a raccoon infestation here and they have been setting live traps to catch and relocate them so that's maybe what they are up to. Anyway, on to the food They really liked the ham and egg sandwiches that I made yesterday, so I did the same thing for this morning. They haven't eaten them yet and it's all I can do not to go get one and eat it myself. I'm hungry. So, as you know, last night was spaghetti night with venison meatballs. I hauled out the pasta maker and made some dough. I used to drape pasta all over the kitchen. This holder is much much easier. Sauce and meatballs The usual salad Our friends' plate My plate I am debating.....pork roast in the slow cooker, or @Ann_T honey garlic chicken and some pork belly and egg rolls...pork roast is easier....but.....hmmm........
