fish at a diner? not for me. just turkey clubs and talyor ham, egg, and cheese. favorites currently the oradell diner and tom sawyer in paramus. i spent many a night at the Malibu in hoboken, and still rank it as one of my favorites.
i was first introduced to chili-mac in VA. i've made it probably once a year for the last 14 years. love it. gotta have raw onion on it too, though. and beer to drink.
Rosie-- please read back 2 messages before yours; are you trying to plagiarize me? Of course. I can't think of a nicer person to quote. i can think of several.
i'm in the middle of one. perhaps it's the summer, but i'm finding myself grilling a lot. some rosemary, or some other herb, evoo, and i'm done. can't wait til the funk ends and i get back on the stove, however.
what you mean by "pickles". there are hundreds of styles and types. many of which ain't too far from pickled capers. you're just pissed off. and if you say another bad word about softshell crabs, well, i just might do something horrible.
just because it's a train wreck doesn't mean that people won't watch it. and of course NBC and Rocco have done very well with this program. especially with a world of food freaks like us out there.
who's professing a lack of interest in the show? that doesn't seem to be the trend as far as i can tell. besides, those stats could be read as an indication of how interesting this thread is, rather than the show. although i think it's a combination of both.
It is one thing to want wine with dinner. It is another to demand that the server take tour credit card and go out and buy a few bottles. It is another thing on top of that when your food is FREE. demand? that seems like a strong word. but you must be right about the "rich" part. afterall, it was a gold amex.
and why do we think that is? cost? habit? cultural/societal standards? because they were given the chance and there was no meaningful push for a compromise?
