    Roasted mushrooms

They did the tip out the juice thing but these were really fresh no juice to tip out. They had good crust
  4. Oh my goodness - what a treat. Saw them on several sites. Simply cut to a bite size, tossed with salt and olive oil. A sprinkle of garlic powder and herbs optional. 375F until done to your liking. I used brown crimini. another pan on deck for tomorrow. Anyone else roast them?

@Nicolai What kind of cheese do you think was on the spaezle Looks so integrated Yes walking home a must
  6. I think she wants manageable slices to be used in different apps at different times. Yes your suggestion is something I have done with the rocking motion to open but as the slices get smaller - I don't know. When I buy at Hispanc markets who routinely have the monsters they will do it for me (wielding a cleaver). Like having your fish dealt with to your liking at an Asian market.
  7. Would ut be possible to get a guy in the marketplace to do it - w/ a generous tip?
  8. The blades come in a multi-pack so easy to keep the food one in the kitchen ETA_ eGers are no strangers to power tools for squash https://forums.egullet.org/topic/109342-peeling-butternut-squash/
  9. Power tools work too - like a Saws-All But but -pricey if you don't already have one.

    Breakfast 2019

Sounds delicious. My first thought when I saw it was "perfect Halloween sandwich" - w/ eyes, a smile, and drool
  11. Fabulous responses above. I will only add that in my experience stressing on enough for everyone may be overthinking. I gift to the businesses I deal with. always compli, ents. But they get so much stuff from ther vendors that it becomes more of "its the the thought that counts". I did cookies for the local fire station recenty when they were not allowed to go home cuz of our wildfires. I have no idea if there were enough but when I called to see how they were doing weeks later they clearly remembered the gesture. Breathe
  12. @kayb Great storry. Espe.xicially the grinder. Ours was not as big but its postion as a holiday harbinger was the same. Stepmother apparently pithed it - grrr
  13. Have you ever tried just using your hands as opposed to a mixer? Just curious? poken by Ms Old School here...
  14. Not sure of your quantity and unclear what recipe would add vinegar (as opposed to apple cider)....but at this point you could add an interesting sweetener (a dark honey, sorghum - like that) OR just use it in savory applications. Not the answer you want I'm sure ! Other ideas from members will materialize. Here is a prior interesting topic https://forums.egullet.org/topic/120083-killer-apple-butter-recipes/
  15. The problem with water rooting is that the roots don't against anything and can lead to a wimpy plan
  16. I grew up with many apple trees grafted so the whole name thing not an issue. We just preferred certain ones. My favorite apple grower is in Temecula, Ca They have since expanded the types. - they are outstanding
  17. My fond TJ memory is when they only had booze and nuts at original in Pasadena, California . We went there for the Perrier Jouet champagnge at a great price. https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/2017/08/168772/trader-joes-original-store-photos

    Dinner 2019

s We get them in Los Angeles from 2 hour north - Santa Barbara. Pricey! but a treat
  20. My relatives in Ontario, Canada (?) bottled "pop". Retail store was called the Pop Shop. Not a California term at all. I think we were already inducted into the brand name game. Oh my Aussie bil had a moment with a waitress who asked "soup or salad?" - he said yes - cuz he heard "super salad". Still makes me laugh.
  21. They are ok. I grew up on freshly made ones in Ensenda by the fish market so my bar is high.
  22. I don't eat fast food so not a peronal issue but none of this is gonna kill you tomorrow. Scientific reporting in the general media and even in some journals has not adhered to standards. "Grain of salt" as you read Example https://www.cde.ca.gov/re/es/evidence.asp
  23. I avoided it for years - all that trying to be Twiggy with celery and cottage cheese. Today it is on deck as the creamy element in a roasted tomato pasta dish - just Kroger generic. Still have a problem with celery...
  24. Oh! we had a lady on the corner who did those. You had to greet and explain your costume first - a once a year treat!
  25. I love it. but where I am now no kids do it. Properties too far apart. The mall does it. My avatar dog lived for Halloween. We would take a chair and table to the sidewalk (house was set far back) and the kids would go crazy. I usually put a glow-stick necklace on him. I just let them grab what they wanted. Most were imports from areas that were more poor and did not do halloween.
