Have you ever tried just using your hands as opposed to a mixer? Just curious? poken by Ms Old School here...

Not sure of your quantity and unclear what recipe would add vinegar (as opposed to apple cider)....but at this point you could add an interesting sweetener (a dark honey, sorghum - like that) OR just use it in savory applications. Not the answer you want I'm sure ! Other ideas from members will materialize. Here is a prior interesting topic https://forums.egullet.org/topic/120083-killer-apple-butter-recipes/

The problem with water rooting is that the roots don't against anything and can lead to a wimpy plan

I grew up with many apple trees grafted so the whole name thing not an issue. We just preferred certain ones. My favorite apple grower is in Temecula, Ca They have since expanded the types. - they are outstanding

My fond TJ memory is when they only had booze and nuts at original in Pasadena, California . We went there for the Perrier Jouet champagnge at a great price. https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/2017/08/168772/trader-joes-original-store-photos

Small farming is tough and then doing marketing and praying mostly. I'll pay the price.

s We get them in Los Angeles from 2 hour north - Santa Barbara. Pricey! but a treat

My relatives in Ontario, Canada (?) bottled "pop". Retail store was called the Pop Shop. Not a California term at all. I think we were already inducted into the brand name game. Oh my Aussie bil had a moment with a waitress who asked "soup or salad?" - he said yes - cuz he heard "super salad". Still makes me laugh.

They are ok. I grew up on freshly made ones in Ensenda by the fish market so my bar is high.

I don't eat fast food so not a peronal issue but none of this is gonna kill you tomorrow. Scientific reporting in the general media and even in some journals has not adhered to standards. "Grain of salt" as you read Example https://www.cde.ca.gov/re/es/evidence.asp

I avoided it for years - all that trying to be Twiggy with celery and cottage cheese. Today it is on deck as the creamy element in a roasted tomato pasta dish - just Kroger generic. Still have a problem with celery...

Oh! we had a lady on the corner who did those. You had to greet and explain your costume first - a once a year treat!

I love it. but where I am now no kids do it. Properties too far apart. The mall does it. My avatar dog lived for Halloween. We would take a chair and table to the sidewalk (house was set far back) and the kids would go crazy. I usually put a glow-stick necklace on him. I just let them grab what they wanted. Most were imports from areas that were more poor and did not do halloween.

"Off Menu" - new LA Times food video series on YouTube
heidih replied to a topic in Food Media & Arts
The Thursday Food Section is the only part of the LAT I can tolerate - they upped their game. Of course when someone talks about Jazz - all I can think is J Gold. So painful. -
My ex would never eat our duck eggs - female was khaki campbell. He took them to work and the southern ladies baked with them - he did eat the cake!

I think grant writing is a big factor - gottaa pay someone to do it. well.

http://www.premiermushrooms.com/ No farming operation is easy...but attention to issues is heartening and they are good

Gosh I had to google - I used an oversize pattypan. The really big one made a lovely dip container for a party. Those silly squash can hide under the leaves in our garden and oops- how did it get THAT big? Everyone thought it was ceramic! The baking bit,- waste of time. Oh well - the beauty of compost piles

Perhaps the condition of the purchased product matters. I poke holes in the plastic, add a paper towel and use pretty quickly cuuz - why wait. The above recipe from Foods of the World P France rang a bell but - can you taste the crab
-
Not a pie girl - but that speaks to me in a good way

We got the butcher to hack a duck in half for us for another day (head and feet included - It was a Viet store. The food was excellent and Kym also brought me a jar of her excellent nuoc mam
-
OK I will be the idiot (my Dean says yes you are) If something does not speak taste wise - let it go - I tried once with a mild squash with phyllo - but .but no culinary go to
-
