  1. We have an OTR microwave that came with our new home. Great for defrosting and reheating. We have an Oster "convection toaster oven" that comes with a screen rack making it an "air fryer." I don't give a rip about air frying but YMMV. It's the French double door version. The Oster is on a rolling table. This combination is serving us well. Initially we bought the Oster because we planned on getting a Blue Star range. The model I want doesn't have a broiler so the Oster would be used for that. Our current range doesn't have convection. I don't know if this helps but I'm putting it out there as my experience.
  2. @Shel_B You brought back a memory. Thank you. In 1964 my mother got a Kenmore gas range with slide-out burners. It had a large oven below the burners section and another oven over the burners. It was great for preparing holiday meals. She used that stove until 2010 when she moved to an assisted living facility. I cooked countless family dinners on that stove in my high school years.
  3. I am so pleased to see you posting again, and sorry that health issues were the culprit. I too wish your Darling a speedy and full recovery.
  4. My music tastes are all over the map. I have many different playlists and pick something to match my mood. And if I don't have any inspiration to use one of my playlists then it's Pandora's The Great Jazz Trio. Many of my playlists contain tracks from David Benoit, The Ray Bryant Trio, 60s and 70s oldies, Beegee Adair, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Neil Diamond, and Barbra Streisand.
  5. Do you carry a vacuum sealer for portioning/storing? Each time I see the peanut butter whiskey I say to myself, "um, no." It has less than zero appeal, and I love peanut butter.
  6. But of course. Doesn't everybody? I sure do - freshly ground.
  7. This (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) is the one I have and I'm very happy with it. edited to fix faulty link.

    Dinner 2024

@Smithy I used the recipe from She Loves Biscotti. I've only made ricotta once before, different recipe. I used whole milk. I used a spider to remove the curds and they were dry within a few minutes. Next time, quite a ways in the future, I'll check the curds when I'm done removing them. I would have preferred it slightly more creamy. The Lasagna recipe I used I've had for 50 years. I rarely make it. We get 4 meals out of it.

    Lasagna with freshly-made ricotta.
  10. Complaints of rocks in the product. Trader Joe’s Chicken, Lentil, & Caramelized Onion Pilaf
  11. I got my start in sous vide in early spring 2020. I purchased an Anova PC 1.0 circulator. This year my Sweetie found a good deal on the Anova Wifi 1000 Watt circulator. We discussed it for a few minutes and I decided that would be a nice Christmas present. I like the slightly smaller dimensions. I don't care about the wifi at all. Tuesday for dinner I broke it in on some pork loin chops.
  12. Your recommendation was enough to make me pull the trigger and order one. I like our (my) handheld Swingaway crank handle opener. My Sweetie, however, is a leftie and finds it basically impossible to use.
