True, for starters a wheelbarrow to haul all that money around. I am slicing a banana and topping my cereal with it in your honor this morning.
-
Well now, if you were female and pregnant I would fully understand that craving And you might even want to add pickles!
-
I'm Chiquita Banana and I've come to say, Liuzhou eats one each and every day. Whether baked in bread or served on a plate. Every one meets the exact same fate.
-
I don't know, much about these things, but I wonder if your plate might have caught that crack from being too near that banana bread? Hope it isn't the start of an epidemic!

I love "Ethel" as a turkey name. I had a great aunt with that name and now that I think about it, she did look rather like a turkey. Her two sisters were named Gertrude and Maude, also good poultry names I think

Well that nailed it for sure..I always thought the Amish and Mennonite ladies just used left overs from barn raisings. They are nothing if not thrifty
-
Don't people use nails for the same purpose in baked potatoes? Almost sure I have even seen packages of so called "baking nails" in a Mennonite store near here. I shall check next time we are there.

Drying fresh catnip and setting it aside until it was time to make catnip Christmas mice.

Was that a wise crack I just heard?

Starting a high profile new restaurant (after closing another)

Sounds like a sharp idea for explaining cutting edge technology. Sorry, being house bound must be getting to me. -
What an amazing selection of wonders you ended up with. The spice grinder is what really makes me drool! And I would love a piece of the confection too. I love any sweet with honey and sesame seeds. Those look just amazing. You hit the jackpot!

I really like them too. Why do I think they look Polish or Russian? Kind of kinky to see those big, blue eyes among the lettuce leafs. Anxious to hear the story. Loved the site with the dinosaurs. Heck, I'm loving everything about your trip as usual.

Cooking smells getting in her hair is nothing compared to her hair getting in her cooking. Ugh. Imagine running into a strand of that wrapped around your asparacus! Yes, i would be "asparcussing: for sure..

Your booth is so inviting. The type of place where i would like to linger and get to know you. Having the cookbooks on display was a wonderful idea. I am always interested in whee people get their inspiration. i'm so happy it went well and that you shared it with us! Also the doggies treats are a good idea. Our daughter bakes them as gifts for her dog owing friends every year. She has three different sizes of bone shaped cookie cutters.

I too had a defective model. And it makes me rethink the entire Cuisniart line. Everything I have of theirs has had a problem and usually a cheap little thing. The little plastic knob on the coffee pot broke before the pot was two years old. The plastic hinges and lock on the panini press failed within two years. My toaster oven looks like hell. The white finish has yellowed and chipped around the door. I won't blame it on using items from China because we have some outstanding products from them. I blame the need to make every buck they can even when they risk losing future customers....like me.

I think that in having the Knauers and Smiths shows they are trying to cash in on the British Bake Off shows super calm vibs. Everyone gets along. Even the worst screw up hardly upsets them for more than a minute. That same vib translates to viewer boredom high on the ho hum scale on this side of the pond. They seem to lack the ability to find a happy medium between the hyper types and the ones verging on comas. They seem to be doomed to either having utterly stupid competitions or using eye candy in aprons.

I always love seeing your mix and match of dishes and serving pieces. You turn your table top into a piece of art. I suspect even my ordinary meals would look elegant in such a setting.

https://www.thrillist.com/eat/nation/guy-fieri-diners-drive-ins-dives-behind-scenes/food-and-drink Hope this is okay to do.

Just read an article on Thrill List under the Food & Drink heading about what happens to a restaurant after Fieri visits and films a show. Interesting and a bit surprising.

Read this morning that they are bringing back Iron Chef and that Alton Brown will be hosting the show. It was fun to watch when I first discovered the channel. Some nutso stuff went down.

Ah ha, that clam dip was part of my childhood in Los Angeles. My folks piled it into a hollowed out loaf of good sourdough bread. Wrapped it in foil and heated it in the oven until the dip was hot. I found the recipe. 1 large loaf unsliced crusty sourdough bread 2 8oz packs of cream cheese 3 61/2 ounce cans chopped clams, reserve 1/4 liquid 2 tbsps grated onion 2 tbsps beer, (they put some form of booze in EVERYTHING) 2 tsps each worcestershire sauce and lemon juice 1 tsp Tabasco sauce 1/2 tsp salt With sharp knife, cut top from bread, set aside. Hollow out loaf leaving a 1 1/2 to 2 inch shell. Cut removed bread into cubes for dipping. In large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth stir in clams onions beer, worcestershire sauce, lemon juice Tabasco sauce and salt Add clam juice in mixture seems to thick, On a baking sheet, make a cross with two sheets of foil long enough to cover loaf. Center bread shell on fil. Pour mixture into shell , cover with bread top and wrap loaf with foil. Bake in a preheated 250 degree oven for 3 hours, remove and serve. Toast bread cubes in oven during last 5-10 minutes of baking time if desired. Good served with veggie dippers as well as the bread. They called this Slow Ball Dip and I have no idea why. To my knowledge they never watched a baseball game in their lives. More likely there was some R rated story behind the name. This used to be our go-to meal for watching the World Series. That all change this year when all we ate was crow!

Well, my big Black Friday buy was a Powerball ticket. Almost never buy them, but what the heck I went for it. Never even had a single number.

Had a friend that served Scarlett O'Hara cocktails. They were made of Southern Comfort, cranberry juice and lime. As God as my witness, they looked festive!

I don't know if I have ever seen a market that called out to me more than the one in your photos. Amazing food and a wonderful journey all rolled into one. Thank You so much.
