Or as Jeff Mauro says of anything spread on a sandwich - "Crust to crust is a must"
-
gotta love ya and visit you ......Finger Lakes are a beautiful area though never known for much than Cornell chicken just don't eat much more than 1/2 of a sandwich since it is too much,,,,,,

DO IT !!! not crazy about sandwiches either but sometimes........

I believe I can get there in about 18 hours on a straight through drive........ my dinner wasn't so good but then I'm missing my husband and haven't heard from him in 24 hours(he's too busy on that ship). potato au gratin with extra cheddar - if there is such a thing - and a sweet potato I needed to use up.
-
does that make it lunch or third breakfast? inquiring minds want to know...........
-
watching my usual Sunday morning show and this appeared on the weekly calendar..... Hmmmmmmmmm sausage and peppers? sloppy joe(NOT the NJ version .... though that can be fun)? beef on weck - Buffalo or Fredonia style? grilled ham and cheese with spicy pickles? pimento cheese? cream cheese on walnut bread? so many choices..........
-
WHEN are you going to get the Cholula chili-lime hot sauce????? Do you need me to bring some up to you?

Or second breakfast? (as anyone familiar with Lord of the Rings will recognize)

John left yesterday for a 12 day cruise (I was supposed to go but chose NOT to)... but after coming home from the shore I made bison and spinach meatballs served with brown rice pasta and a mixed salad with some greens brought back, a faux pad thai with rice vermicelli, shrimp and veg - John got the shrimp and mine was vegetarian. Sent him off to the ship with a small container of Cape Cod Waldorf chicken salad and a turkey sandwich. I treated myself to some scrambled eggs and turkey sausages for dinner last night and now will go where my taste takes me for the next few days. I have thawed out some bison and some Italian sausages because I want some sloppy joes(ground meat NOT NJ style) and some sausage gravy with real pasta. Lots of greens for salads...a butternut squash I want to roast then maybe make a risotto with. I'm hoping to find some nice looking cauliflower and Brussels sprouts to make a stir fry with and maybe a curry with some local apples.

Warmed up piece of apple pie brought back from down the shore at Clinton Conover Farms(and I HIGHLY recommend this pie) with some cubes of 7 year Canadian cheddar. There is nothing better for a fall breakfast - but I guess that's my eastern Long Island/New England background.

Not a member of that wholesale club but have bought the smaller size at my local Shoprite and like it quite a bit but I (and my cat, Smudge, it seems) am quite partial to Shoprite's imported marinara...same 40 oz for 4.59 with my rewards card.

For John: edamame pasta with avocado and chicken saltimbocca For me : vegetable rice soup and a salad still working on leftovers until John leaves later this week...
-
I lied.........I'm also making meatballs that I can eat on some bucatini with red sauce that I am craving today(cool but dry and less windy). Leftovers are going into John's lasagna for the end of the week/weekend. After seeing all the steaks I want a strip but really can't do it justice here at home. Hopefully I can find some place I can get a great, crusty one...and SOON.

On another site I frequent someone mentioned coffee M&M's which sound intriguing. Haven't seen them which is a pain since I live less than 30 minutes from a main plant and used to work in that town. On a side note for cocktail parties: when airplanes are coming into NY or NJ airports from the interior they receive their final approach instructions when over Hackettstown, NJ with the code name SWEET because that is where the M&M Mars plat is.

Got back last night at about 10 pm from seeing the new Ron Howard documentary about the touring years of The Beatles, Eight Days a Week. So glad we saw it in a proper theatre with a good sound system. John inhaled a box of popcorn but was hungry. I had planned on making chicken saltimbocca earlier but as John is on his vampire schedule he was eating lunch at 430 pm. Soooooooooooo........by 1030 pm he was eating his chicken saltimbocca with some leftover rice. Lactaid cottage cheese is on sale this week at our local Shoprite so I picked up a couple of tubs. Draining one to use as a substitute for ricotta for John to have a gluten free and lactose free lasagna to take with him when he goes north later this weekend. Beef was on sale, too, so there is a roast resting in a lovely mix of vinegar, onion, red wine and mixed pickling spices for a sauerbraten on Sunday. Tonight I'm making some butternut squash and apple soup and pasta for John so he can have some more of the leftover saltimbocca.

Almost Cincinnati chili.....where are the ranch oyster crackers?????? Last night was a basic salad with a burger. Found some good 90% lean on markdown yesterday so 2 burgers and 4 sliders from a pound. Soup for tonight with some bread as it is a little drizzly and cool. Can't wait to see what I can do soon when it gets cool.....right now I'm tired of making variations of chicken salads as Johnnybird will not eat sandwiches anymore............unless he is in the car.

Have you ever tried Chouloua chili lime hot sauce? I have been known to do a shot of it straight up......

Using up a bunch of stuff: Lasagna Meatloaf made into sandwiches Chicken spinach meatballs with some rice Yesterday poached shrimp in a beer/garlic/onion broth. For some reason John decided some of them would go well with leftover lasagna noodles and red sauce instead of the seafood sauce I had made. Leftovers today for a snack. Pulled a package of chicken breasts on the bone. I plan on roasting them later then using one for Cape Cod chicken salad and one to make into chicken pot pie. The bones will be simmered with some others and vegetable leavings from the freezer to make broth for soup.

Just got the weekly circular from our local Food Imperium and noticed Oreo Churros......will look to see what that is all about.
-
Can find it at Shoprite or, interestingly, in a local liquor store - Bottle King - for about 5.00 US per jar. Sorry but if I can get Silver Palate on sale with a coupon for around 2.00 US I will take that and buy some backup marinara.

Actually according to my books all are dabblers and the teals eat seeds from the surface as opposed to the others that tend to eat material from deeper down. The woodies are also said to eat acorns .....ewwwwwwwww. I dislike vension that eat acorns as they tend to be too tannic,

YEAH!!!!!!! Spedies!!!! For the pie try a Bisquick type crust. It is getting cooler so made something that can be eaten over several days and the leftovers frozen in individual portions for Johnnybird: a lactose and gluten free lasagna. Made spinach and ground turkey meatballs that I mashed up for the meat... basic tomato sauce with herbs... drained some Lactaid cottage cheese so it was thicker then added herbs and a beaten egg with a tiny bit of aged Italian cheeses... some rice lasagna. Waiting for Himself to come in and taste it with a basic lettuce and tomato salad with vinaigrette.

For the ducks is it the difference between the dabblers vs the divers as they seem to eat different things? (running for my bird books NOW)
