  1. Yea, not much of a statement if banning only 'new' recipes. Are there many beef recipes to come? Do folks even use beef recipes? A stir-fry here and there but those work w just about any protein. I typically want to do as little to beef as possible.
  2. Interesting they would opt for this given gender equality (even in China?) is such the hot topic. Do they actually call it a 'ladies' menu'? They could avoid some negativity if they called it 'guest menu' and asked the reservation maker (assuming required in this fancy joint) if they'd like the menu option.
  3. Bienvenue Jonas. Oui, quel est le nom de le restaurant e votre experience avec covid?
  4. Imagine it's a break even when you're sweating your ass off burning a million carbs a day ⛏️💪 Would be very happy with that lamb and 'schnitzel'. I need more lamb in my life.
  5. Nice, I imagine the liner materials/construction has improved. The cheap one I tried years ago, besides being young nasty swill, the film or foil taste was rudely pervasive.
  6. And how were they? I like the round ones. Much less offensive than the box.
  7. 'Rotwein'......you have to admire the honesty.
  8. When consuming wine from a carton is a glass really even required? When consuming wine from a carton does one even require a glass?
  9. Those are our beer pint (water) glasses! Never thought to put wine (even the cheap swill) in them.
  10. I don't experience the holding and swirling challenge esp when rotated on a surface. I do get that clarity/legs are not as easy to assess. Also they don't cover every grape or as large as one might like. Yea, often comes down to laziness and whether the wine is worth washing stems over. The stemless are also great for water, soda, beer and cocktails. Maybe a psychological aspect too. I don't have the same expectations of the wine because they remind me of the vin de table water glasses than the stems. As for Schiller's, what a great place and time for that area. I drank a lot of wine from those cups. Thanks for sparking.
  11. Pretty cool but yea, very limited use at this point. If it takes off they'll perfect it I bet. The claim to prevent the spread of viruses is interesting. Although wouldn't any plastic wrap do that when affixed properly?
  12. Do we have one? (I forgot fine poetry doesn't appeal to everyone : )
  13. Been many years since I had shad. I think it was smoked and so good. How are you making it? Makes me think..... . My friend Chad asked if I ate shad. I said no and it made him sad. I called my monger and they had. Chad was so glad I would get to eat shad. Days later he asked if it was bony. I said a tad. Still, it was totally rad.

    Dinner 2021

A simple baked/steamed salmon, lemon, rose, new sage and thyme from garden, (yay, fresh herbs are back), couscous, greek salad. Can I put my guess in for 'Drunk Westerner'? @liuzhou? From the same company that brought you 'Grandma's Tease': (Past it's prime for wearing in public but a nice souvenir and reminder of our China leg : )
  15. Your probably right, Ken, expanded privately. But the result is the same. It got dumbed down to simplify and standardize execution for volume I went several times to the midtown locations and other than the name was nothing like the original.

Great info, thanks but I was referring to the papaya condiment, the relation to the name, if Mama is being teased or doing the teasing, etc.

Can we talk about the name of this?
  18. They were smart to franchise. The Bourdain visit gave them a nice little boost. I guess I was spoiled having experienced the original Golden mall location several times because the offshoots sucked.
  19. Looks like dumbed down salsa. Pickles (or plain cucumber?) replaces raw onion, peppers and cilantro? Sounds pretty boring but hey, good for them for trying. My little one loves 'sushi sc'. My version, mayo, siracha, ketchup and a dash of fish sc. Nice on sandwiches or anything battered/fried.
  20. I'll give you one hint. You used yours to post the question. (link up there)

    Dinner 2021

Lentil kielbasa stew - rice, tomato, spinach, smoked paprika, red wine, etc. The smoke from the kielbasa and paprika made it very good. Nicely paired w a J Vineyards Pinot gifted from the eg wine gods.
  22. I saw plenty in Laos not Cambodia. We visited a couple chinese pharmacies. My wife was elated to learn she didn't need a script for codeine or maybe vicodin. Not sure but it was something strong. She was ready to move there....w or w out me.
  23. You know they reuse it. Q is how many times?
  24. Yes, the wiki says invented in China. Congrats. We just didn't see it there or the other 7 Asian countries in quite the abundance as Vietnam. It was everywhere.
  25. Inspired by the Vietnamese? (Sadly, after the requisite tourist samplings can report no obvious 'stamina' boost)
