  1. Goy latkes - who knew you had to marry one to get the good stuff.
  2. I don't get a negative reaction to tweaked savory riffs as long as the core ingredients (chick peas, tahini) are intact. After that you can't call chocolate chick pea spread hummus.
  3. But it wasn't a mistake. It was her being cute (albeit a sad attempt). What producer (of a food show) is going to challenge it esp a big name like her? "Uh Nigella, can we talk about 'meecro-wavy'?" "Sorry, who are you, again?" - N
  4. Yes, I don't think it's scripted to that degree nor would they challenge something as minute esp for a celeb like her. Could be wrong of course knowing nothing about this industry : )
  5. Nah, what Anna said above, a personal slang so bad it couldn't have been calculated. Lucky for her, annoying to anyone not a fan.
  6. Yes, I've often wondered the appeal. A British thing? "The TV cook has sent the internet in to meltdown w her ridiculous pronunciation of the beloved kitchen gadget" - 'beloved' LOL
  7. It's the opposite for me. Now that I know that stuff is in there I'm curious. I'm sure none of it is detectable and I'm sure I don't want to know what evil Sysco science happens to make it so. Hmm, might have to take one for the team. (They'll need to be a decent amount of alcohol before and after)
  8. Well now that I know it has offal in it...... "McDonald's claims that the sandwich is composed primarily of shoulder meat. As it turns out, the truth is much less appetizing. Chicago Magazine broke the story that the ingredients actually consist of restructured meat products like heart, tripe, and scalded stomach. The McHeart, McTripe, and McScaldedStomach just don't have the same ring, do they? Unfortunately, all three of those names would be more accurate than "the McRib." (I don't know or care if any of this is true but how great would it be to witness public reaction to a McHeart on the menu.....lol? - https://delishably.com/dining-out/five-disturbing-facts-about-the-mcrib)
  9. Let me just say the McRib is always back : ) I have one childhood memory of a highly manipulated spam like product joined by congealed bands of fat. Something I wished never to experience again. Is it still like that?
  10. The pinnacle of chef memoirs. My all time fave.

    Dinner 2020

Anna Gemelli in g/o, shrimp, spinach, chk broth. (Anna is a bargain line by Cento. They cook and hold up well, similar to Barilla)

    Dinner 2020

Nice, I did very similar w chicken (and side of Modello :)
  13. Can you share a picture upon completion? Will everything last through the holiday? Do you do anything to the fruit first? Salt?
  14. Oooh now I'm jonesing the same. My last one was w bourbon and apples but I like the idea of port. What's your method?
  15. You don't have to convince me. I totally admire your curiosity and determination. Everyone here is nuts (about food : )
  16. Ooofa, not a pleasant voice or manner. Gold medal to anyone who can through 5min of this.
  17. Ooh, that reminds me too of an old fave - Spanish devils - baked dates stuffed w chorizo and fontina. If you've never had them you should. Easy and nice alternative to bacon wrapped stuff (w I find overwhelms). Dinner, likely a surf and turf spin of crab or lob tails and venison loin and classic sides, brussels, garlic mash, etc. etc. Whata depressing year. Still feels surreal. "And have you been naughty or nice? What? speak up, sweetie. It's ok we're not whispering this year."
  18. Product of the USA! Any more info on the back? If not the ramen comp maybe you can contact them for the ingreds/seasonings? (Sure, they'll think you're nuts but they'll be happy someone wants this info : )
  19. Yea, addictive and the packs don't yield much. I usually get whatever's on sale at our not so close H-Mart. My girls will scarf a large multipack in a day or two (w covers their sodium intake for a week). I've thought of slicing up sheets but I know they'll call bullshit if it's not in a the cute single serve pkgs. PIA's
  20. I'm guessing it doesn't say if and what the veggies were seasoned w before drying? If so I would think a significant factor in where the flavors are coming from.
  21. Don't worry, Scandalous Nigella would never let that happen.
  22. Whenever I ask, it's always "I don't know, I've never eaten seafood".
  23. Agree c. partially b. but not a. If not a bbq what do you call it? A picnic? A grilling event? Nah
  24. Good job LZ, love the passion and anger. Went to a friend's once (in Brooklyn no less) for a 'grill-out' which translated to defrosted hot dogs and hamburgers scorched on a gas bbq. I thanked him for these yummy, carefully curated entrees with a promise to return the favor in a timely manner. I offered, in contrast, an indoor meal or so he could understand, a 'grill-in'.
