  1. #48 and #50 have been guessed correctly
  2. I really liked the movie "Alive"
  3. I'm with Varmint on #18 - the scene where Ted Knights grandson is at the golf course snack bar. How about "Quiche Lorraine, pastries as light as air, picnic of cold chicken" How about "A solitary fried egg, soup with a ham hock, How about "A diablo sandwich and a dr. pepper"
  4. Personally, I do pork tenderloins wrapped in pancetta or roasted chicken.
  5. I'm seconding WaterDogs on Young Frankenstein
  6. The Seven Year Itch!
  7. Is it ; "As Good As It Gets" ? ← Err... that was my intention, anyway, so yes, well done ! "They made me go out and buy a jacket and tie, and they let you in in a housedress". Ouch. GordonCooks - did I get it wrong ? I did, didn't I ? Russin-frussin Dick Dastardly. ← No problem The movie is one of my faves...it's the only time I've ever heard the expression "noodle salad"
  8. Is it ; "As Good As It Gets" ? ← Maybe if it was "hard shell" crab dinners with a pitcher of beer.
  9. Having been the last table at Susur a few times, he's always come out and quizzed me on what I liked and such. We've talked a few times regarding restaurants in general and places he's eaten at in the US. He's a very humble and focused chef but very approachable.
  10. Currently? Fresh and Dried Basil Nam Pla Ancho Chili powder The cycle constantly changes
  11. Daniel, Bouley, Le Bernardin...all top tier (maybe not No.1 always but never too far our of the game) Maybe Gordon Ramsay? Personally, I would add Craft or WD-50 to Per Se and JG to round it out. Not sure if you plan on trips to London or Paris, otherwise a visit to L'Atelier or Gordon Ramsay may be a must eat.

    Wine for wedding

I'm unsure if the amount of added work and stress us worth all the trouble of obtaining a wine that is marginally better than what could be delegated to the experts per se. I'd choose from they what they offer at the hotel.

    Wine for wedding

First of all, I would make sure that the corkage applies to your wedding/banquet event and not just policy for the restaurant.

    Pairing advice

Not sure how accurate their online list is - the Radio Couteau Syrah at 80.00 is a bargain and delicious or the Turley Zin. Didn't see any particular Rhones that stood out.
  15. Yes! And I'd like to take a whack at #4 (4. A steak like a piece of charcoal?) which I believe is "Raging Bull". ← Ding Ding
  16. It pretty much means you will be expected to order a full bottle of wine/liquor from the list. You will have your own server and will be granted some VIP treatment (for a price that is)
  17. ← Easy, Steve Martin in "The Jerk"...don't forget the "new" wine, something from "this" year A steak like a piece of charcoal?

    Seared Butter

Butter has a decent moisture content. Any attempt to heat it in a sealed type vessel may cause the moisture to steam or "pop" I'd clarify the butter first.
  19. Was forced to watch "The Devil wears Prada" last night. Anyone for a "Corn Dodger"? ← I have a horrible feeling that corn dodgers were in the Little House on the Prairie, the movie not the series?? don't blame me, blame the kids ← Possibly but my reference is to a movie ← I mean the movie, yep there was one ← oh, is it True Grit?? hehehe ← Ding! Ding!

  22. My last visit was 6+ years ago. I hear it's still not as good as it used to be. It was a favorite many a year ago.
  23. Carroll's, esp the Club burger with the little collar wrapped around the burger.

    Per Se

It looks like they've gone the way of Bouley, small, savory courses and fill you with the desserts and the end. I'd still be hungry after that meal although it looks very enticing.
  25. I really wanted to avoid this kind of dispute, but to me Hearth is one of the more OVERappreciated restaurants around here. I like it, but it gets mentioned so much on this board that you'd think it was one of the uniquely excellent places in the City. ← No complaints here - I personally haven't seen much ink regarding it in a while. Glad to see it.
