  1. Several years ago, I was told Ridge produced one. I never saw it and their New York distributor never received any (if, in fact, it was ever made).

Could be a similar name, i.e., Echo White Ridge, Stony Ridge or Rabbit Ridge.

  2. I can say this about white Zinfandel there are people I like to whose homes I am invited on which occasions the dread white Zinfandel is the lesser of the evils on offer.  And I'd drink it anyday anytime instead of chemicals-in-a-can.

What I want is something called rose made by a CA winery with whatever lovely blend of grapes the talented winemaker adjudges appropriate that costs <$10./bottle and is delicious.

    Have you tried this?

  3. hollywood, I get my final exam grades at graduation. If you don't pass - and that has happened - they call you right after your exam to warn you not to show up. This happened to a girl last session - and her friends had to call the paramedics because she hyperventilated and passed out.

    Merde!

  4. Who is Bernard Edwards?

Bernard Edwards & Nile Rodgers, the two men behind the Chic Corporation.

Though now as I think about it, it may have Nile who was snubbed at Studio 54.

You must be a devotee of Behind the Music.

  5. The only way to avoid packaging the water would be to deliver it to people's homes and places of business through some sort of amazingly intricate and complex series of reservoirs, pumping stations, pipes . . .  hey, wait a second, we already have that.

Have you ever tried to drink Los Angeles tap water? I guess you could filter it at home, but I can certainly see the appeal of bottled water. Recycle, people!

It's no accident that when tap water is served at restaurants in LA, it's iced and has a lemon slice in it. As for this environmental problem, I don't get it. We fill up our recycling can weekly with water and wine bottles and soda cans. Presumably, they are not going to the landfills.

About every 6 months we get one of these scare things about the landfills. Previously, it was disposable diapers filling the fills. Then it was garden clippings (we have a separate can for garden trimmings). Then, just to balance things out, they tell us our actual nonrecyclable garbage is filling the fills. That is what we have them for, isn't it?

  6. We don't need no stinkin' books.  We need F-I-R-E!

Assuming we have fire, perhaps . . .

    Aidells, Complete Meat Cookbook

    The Jamison's, Smoke & Spice

Schlesinger & Willoughby, Let the Flames Begin

Schlesinger & Willoughby, Thrill of the Grill

    Kirk, Championship Barbecue Sauces

Nice list. I think Wilson will approve.

  7. Went to Viet Nam in 1992 and remember the incredible coffee beans I purchased in the Central Market in Saigon.  Ignoring the drying beans I saw on the roadways enroute to Dalat, I bought a kilo for practically  nothing. They were quite black and very oily.  But by far the best coffee I have ever had.  Better than the Jamaican Blue Mountain, Kenya, Costa Rican (and other latin American venues) I have purchased abroad.  I like my coffee black but the Vietnamese ice coffee with the condensed milk is a Sunday morning ritual.  Thank God Chicago has an incredible 'Little Vietnam" where I can replenish my supply.

Is there a specific name for these beans? Any other identifying info? Thanks.

  8. But it's not a survey. ( Preposition starting a sentence, oh well)

It's a restaurant listing which is both national and international. If you own a restaurant it certainly bodes well to bbe listed. This is my only objective.

Listed as follows and I'll shut the fuck up:

    An American Grill

    246 Rt 10 West

    Randolph, NJ 07950

Everyone else fill in the blanks.

    I'm done, Peace out.

    Word.

You should just send a written invitation to the local editor of the New Jersey volume and see what happens.
