  1. There is a recipe in the latest KA catalog for a coal cookie.
  2. Yeah, apparently to keep their costs down they aren't subscribing to the recipes. Guess we have to buy the accompanying cookbooks. ← BUT did you notice that they don't even refer you to the books! GRRRRRRRRRR! ← Are they on the foodtv.com website?
  3. Anna that looks great. I was thinking before I read the description how fresh and crisp the veggies look. I was actually dreading doing the butchering if I was going to make the stew for them. I'm glad it was a no go. Was it fatty? How was the flavor?
  4. I'd like to know if you all save and reuse the packaging?
  5. Thanks!!! I've PMed you.
  6. I made the best ones I've ever made or eaten. Recipe from Cook's Illustrated.
  7. I made Cook's Illustrated Latkas tonight. They were the best ones I've ever made or eaten. You grate part of the potato and the other part is chopped in the food processor. You also stir back in the starch from the bottom of the bowl( and discard the liquid). CI says you can use russet or yukons. I used russet
  8. Andie, Did you use the margarine as directed in the cookie you linked to? Or did you use butter? Oh and thanks for the sour cream pecan cookie. Those were amazing!!
  9. Yep, its the same thing. In Australia and the UK, arugula is called rocket.
  10. Did you try the link? I don't think that this is a recipe that requires a membership to view. (I do have a membership but I have not had to log in to see this recipe, and usually the site requires a log-in for non-free stuff). Let me know, I'm interested. And FWIW, I'm probably not going to renew my CI membership. I don't think that it's a good value. I'd rather spend the $20 annual fee on another cookbook. ← 20.00? I only paid 12.95!!
  11. Thanks!! How much orange peel? I see it in the directions, but not the ingredients. ETA: I found it in the original recipe ( Sunset Magazine) Its 1 TBL.
  12. Where can I find the coconut cranberry chew recipe?
  13. Last Friday I took the train up to Burlington and made Toffee with Kerry Beal and Anna N.( actually Kerry made the majority of it). It was sooooooo good!!
  14. We got tons of snow, I think over a foot this weekend!! Like Pam, I'll be making turkey burgers( grilling) to go with our potato pancakes tonight. Happy Hanukkah!!!
  15. The fruitcake cookies were really good!!
  16. Anybody bake anything good lately? Today I made: Candy cane shortbread Jumbles( excellent!!) Molasses crinkles( epicruious) oatmeal pb pieces cookies I'm getting ready to make Ina Garten's fruitcake cookies and dried cherry pistachio mexican wedding cakes. I'll add a pic later!!
  17. I too have the book and the recipe Kris talks about is the only thing I've made from it( a few times too). I'll have to pull it out and pick something else so I can join in.
  18. Has anyone ever made Matzah at home?
  19. I have this knife and the pink one that also comes in the collection. I use them and let the volunteers use them when I'm cooking for the Seniors. They love them!! They're a great knife for a woman as they're light and small and very sharp. They're also made in Japan.
  20. Do you have a super Wal*mart? I can find it in Port Huron and thats a dinky border town!!
  21. Yesterday I had a really great quiche and ceasar salad that Kerry Beal made. *sigh*, it's so nice to be cooked for!! Thats a feeling I never experience.
  22. Gorgeous kitchen, what type of marble did you go with?
  23. Very cool!! I love matza and I even eat it outside of passover.... I really prefer the whole wheat, it adds just a bit more taste to the regular old matza.
  24. Ok, I missed this when you posted it. I dont *hate* London food, I just don't like very much of it. You know there are a few places that I enjoy( and I go back to them over and over again)......
  25. There is a new place on King( not sure of the name, something with an M maybe). There is also Jewel of India which was ok. I usually go for the lunch ( buffet) rather than order off a menu.
