When Smoking on a gas grill DONT FORGET TO PUT A PAN UNDER THE MEAT.....somewhere there is a picture of my grill the day after I smoked a butt in there. I turned the sucker on and walked away only to return to 5 ft flames shooting out of it and dripping out the grease hole onto the propane line. otherwise it works just fine tracey

Dont worry about sitting fat .... it likes fat. I actually did a crock o' butt yesterday to make up for a huge BBQ we missed friday night. They had nice teeny chucks of skin on bone in butt when we went to the market around 10 am yesterday...it was slipping off the bone by 5...really teeny about 6-7 sandwiches worth yummy

Friday was another sidetrip to NC we must have been in NC 4 times and didnt actually have to go there to get from NJ to TN The Wheels Through Time museum was our destination going through Cherokee National Forest...lunch included be afraid They give us a map with written directions, we pick up another solo rider from Indiana and we head out. 10 bikes on a 4 lane rural highway bordered by fields and woods and the occasional gas station/market..... Do'h a deer a femal deer...running straight for the line...have you ever seen a big man attemp to pull a Goldwing into a wheelie over a moving deer? Well I didnt see it either but it must have been awsome. So going on behind us is deer gets hit by truck going the other direction, gets thrown in front of Jose who runs it over closely followed by Jim who also runs it over, splattering remains on themselves their bikes and Lester's bike behind them. Everyone but the deer is fine...Trucker even pulled over to check on us and someone else stopped to remove the traffic hazzard. One "car" wash later we head back out for the museum and some bad lasagna. After lunch we gear up for the impending rainstorm, and rain it did. After about an hour we were able to peel off the raingear as it was sunny and 95 again. Wrong choice hit another storm on the way to the BIIIG BBQ got soaked and went back to the Marriott for hotel food...it never rained where the party was T

So we have Sat-Sun-Mon-Tues-Thurday taken care of so back to Wednesday. Ole' its Mexican night...after a hotdog for breakfast at the vendor site...while getting new tires put on the bike, t-shirt and accessory shopping... Two of our club members are retired and volunteer at all the Honda events around the country so they happen to know the area and led us to a nice Mexican retaurant outside of town. I never did catch the name of the place but the food was good and cheaper than my local place El Bandito. By now they are used to the camera and actually passed it around for plate porn..there were steak chimichangas, enchiladas, burritos, quesadillas, fahitas and a nice looking steak.... margaritas of course and I got the wrong plate at first and got to switch with of course the only person at the table I didnt actually know...of well tracey

ok I had a whole post written ...went to get the pictures and came back to a blank page I HATE THAT So backtracking to arrival at the Knoxville Marriott, we went all out this year, balcony, big fluffy featherbeds and down comforters etc. Straight to the pool where we put in a room service order for some beers, sliced steak salads, and a yummy grilled chicken club platter. Ahhhh vacation Mmmm nap time After nap time we headed into town on foot with a few recomendations written down, halway to that neighborhood we saw a brew pub, checked the menu and and sat down We ordered a variety of their 9 microbrews with Dennis getting the sampler of all 9. I tried the IPA and my husband started with a Stout. Jim kept having to try more 'cause his glass seemed to have a hole in it Dennis and my hubby Karl after a few samples out of the big kettles Lots of pub food chips and cheese dip more hot pretzles with cheese...fahitas, steaks, etc and of course anyplace that serves hot apple empanadas is OK in my book almost everyone went back here another night also T

Cahouns indeed.."didnt they tell you a reservation is really just well...not a reservation?" an hour later with 13 hungry "bikers" we start to order, and order, and order some more. There was soft pretzles with beer cheese and hot mustard - fried green tomatoes - onion loaf - hmmm thats all I saw at our end of the table. The bread basket included biscuts, garlic parmesan dinner rolls, and corn muffins. There were 11 full racks - 1 half rack - and an order of chicken terriyaki (I dont know why) Even the "chosen peoples" went for the ribs, those on Weight Watchers too porn time oh yeah and one couple ordered the hot chocolate cake with icecream tracey

I must sort of steal a quote of Jasons...move along people nothing to eat here.....plenty to see though. So far we have mostly been looking out over the 3000 plus ft views from the Skyline and Blue Ridge Parkways in VA and NC. Last night 8 of us managed to split off to 3 different restaurants for dinner...Wendy's, Applebees and Ruby Tuesday. We got Ruby Tuesday, and breakfast was the wonders of Cracker Barrel today. The best thing we had so far though was at Cabella's in Hamburg PA...A hash brown type item that was about hotdog size/shape and damn good but the buffet eggs were unusually scarey...and thats truly bad. We had planned tonights stop to go to Aunt Bea's in Mayberry but it appears to have burned down, we can drive by Floyds tomorrow (not kidding) untill Knoxville then, tracey

We are about 13 hours from the start of a 10 day trip halfway across the country on a Honda Valkyrie. We have a group of 8 to start, meeting up with more later in the trip. Hopefully we can blend 8 peoples eating habits into a great trip. We will probabley hit our share of Shoney's type places in the initial quest to make time, but a large portion of this ride will be along the Blue Ridge Parkway so hopefully there will be something good to post here. Once in Knoxville we will be attending an awsome BBQ with the other 18,000 guests at the Honda Hoot catered by Buddy's BBQ (was pretty good last year) and searching out a place called Spooky's for more "spicy East Tennessee BBQ" any suggestions for the Blue Ridge or Knoxville...or umm I think we are coming back through Kentucky and Ohio.... any worthy shots of food will be here..... and scenery and bike stuff will be at the GSMA blog linked below. have to go drop off the doggy at grandmas now Tracey and Karl

Kim Been there, had that, wear New Balance.....In a professional setting sneakers last about 3 to 4 months only, when the whole front of the shoe bows up and you can rock them toss 'em. See a podiatrist to make sure theres no issues at the Plantar area of the foot, or calluses in creases and get orthotics ( assuming you have some insurance). I actually got rid of Plantar fasciitis with orthotics. I wear NB 620s and just bought my first pair since leaving food service 8 months ago after 20 yrs in it...1/2 size smaller because all the swelling has gone away. Good luck feet are an investment tracey
