I am just an observer of my 1 year old grandson. His parents are following a baby guiding weaning. He eats real foods by hand no feeding with a utensil. He eats everything right now. Baby led weaning

Halibut for the hell of it with roasted okra. And I took a picture of our wine before we drank to much. Halibut roasted in a hot oven 400 convection with a little wine topped with shallot, parsley and mint with some panko and olive oil

boneless pork chops pan seared with pickled hot cherry peppers (no red ones) garlic and parsley. Sauce made with chicken stock and some butter. Roasted brussels sprouts with shallots.

it's been a while... I frequently forget to take a picture. Dinner last night. Pan seared fennel sausage with sautéed broccoli. (garlic anchovies and red pepper flakes) and a Conterno Nervi Rosato to drink.

dinner with a friend last night. Grilled rib eye and I made a roasted cauliflower laab which was off the charts good. recipe here wines the St Aubin was great and my Chevillon was corked. Replacement bottle of the Hermitage was awesome.

dinner tonight sautéed shrimp some Japanese quick pickles ( salted and rinsed persian cukes, rice vinegar, 1TBL sugar and sesame seeds. Jasmine rice with a nice white burgundy.

Oh man, what a tough job dealing with people's food aversions. Re: NY Jews: We have a friend with a home in Montauk. Her family was brought up religious. 7 kids. 4 orthodox and 3 not at all following of which my friend was a member of. Her yarmulka wearing brother and another orthodox guy came out sans spouses for the weekend. And those guys ate local scallops and shellfish with reckless abandon. Just because no one from their community was watching or judging them.

Red lentils with cumin, cayenne, garlic, ginger and turmeric. Added arugula to wilt, a bit of yogurt on top and served over jasmine rice. The rose went nicely.

Mother's day meal a small bone in pork butt 6lbs. Went into the smoker at 10:30am and removed at 5:30pm reading internal 190 degrees wrapped in butcher paper let rest until 7pm. With cole slaw, roasted sweet potatoes and some BBQ sauce. Pierre Peters NV Champagne and a Gonon St Joseph. for 3

I just bought that exact same passion fruit syrup. I was thinking about using in in a rum based drink with lime juice.
