  1. You know it never ceases to amaze me what you can learn about people, food, history and our world just by following the blogs on EG. Thank you for another important contribution. I'll have to find an excuse to roadtrip to RI to check out that museum.
  2. Had a chance to stop for lunch today. I ordered the dumplings in spicy broth Fish in Hot pot sauce and Ma Po Tofu I have enjoyed the dumplings and Ma Po Tofu before and they were great as usual. The fish in hot pot sauce was great. If you could eat burning napalm I imagine that would be the best way to describe the heat in this dish. WOW! Best part was, you could taste everything. Serious heat but the flavors of the fish, garlic pieces, green onion were clean and good. The staff again stood and stared wondering what possed me to order these dishes.
  3. Did you cook the shells first?
  4. Yummy looking meals. Glad you wereable to get hide's finger free. Something like that happens with the girls (usually at least once a week) I always say "that will cost me years of counseling.....
  5. Tonight's menu..............Chick from a snuff film.

    Lunch! (2003-2012)

Chicken Parm sub with mushrooms. Water. I should be asleep in a 1/2 hour.............
  8. There is a place in West Chester called Koorma. Kind of a fusion place. They have bimbimbap, in regular bowls and the hot iron pot (my preferred method). They menu states it is made with scrambled egg but I have asked for a lightly fried egg every time and they made it the way I asked. Great stuff. Like what I had in Korea.
  9. I imagine knowing you are about to start a week long blog the next day must have been the reason. Get the train wrecks out of the way before it counts!
  10. Thank you Percy for a wonderful blog. I was away for most of last week and this was a great way to ease back into a new week. I glad to hear you aunt is on the road to recovery. What was that kinfe you used to cut the tuna a few pages back?
  11. I do this every year. I tell them to pick the country, let me know if they have any dislikes or allergies, then I pick what to cook. A protein or two, veggie, soup salad and dessert. I tend to stay away from the breads because I am a baking whimp. I try to buy some music from the country, a couple travel posters to leave behind, a copy of the menu and a bottle of the local wine or beer and Liquor, i.e., grapa for an after dinner drink. The bottle comes home with me. I always have fun, even when the dinners are bought by the not so nice, it actually provided the chance to develop a friendship.
  12. Sorry to here about your aunt. Dinner looked very nice. Does the mushroom crust interfere with the flavor of the fish at all?
  13. If you go south on route 1 past dixie bones about 1/2 mile is a mexican restaurant that has some great food. You can point if you spanish isn't up to par. 20. Daddy-A The whole theme with starting the day without bowing to the altar of JAVA, I'm lost and frankly a bit afraid.....back to bed for me! Seriously, great installment, put you and daniel together FN might get a show worth watching. Until they suck out its spirit like they did with Tony's show.
  21. In your next life you should buy a luxury bus and offer tours. What a blast to just fly across country and wander back the way you and your girlfriend do. Seagulls on scooters.....I'll think of that everytime I'm in Wal-mart or the grocery store.
  22. This is exaclty what I had hoped to see. The OMG! What was I thinking, make you shudder food. Not that it tastes bad....you just hope your friend are really enjoying thier wine so they don't notice the debacle on the plate.

    Dinner! 2005

Grub: We all take hit now and then. You should really use that pic to start a separate thread....If you make it they will post. It will be great for a laugh. I'm destined to join you. Some of my "new dishes" go wrong, in a big way, as well. I made meatloaf for the (now wife) once it was a slurry like affair. I never touched the dam stuff again. No matter how long I cooked it, it never lost its horrid consistentcy. She makes a fine meatloaf (I let her cook once every year or so) so we compliment each other. Your lastest attempt at salmon wellington has come very far since your first try. I look for to you sucesses as well as the one that are no so much....It makes me feel comfortable posting here.
