Being that i am half Pennsylvania Dutch i like to get back to the roots every now and then. There was this place i use to go with my mother off of route 27. Its this Amish Market that is only open on i think Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays. Not like the broke ass market in NYC, where people refer to it as the AIMISH Market. Its run by the amish who arrive a la horse and buggy with various foods. They have everything from homemade potato chips served by an authentic handless man via farming equipment, to ring bologna, to summer sausage, scrapple, home made cheeses, and pretzles. They have everything from my days at my grandmothers farm. Firstly i wanted to inform everyone of its existance, second i want the address. Oh the shoefly pie, unbelievable. Daniel

Ok.. so i have narrowed it down to two places. Dragon Palace on Oak Tree Road in Edison. Great Shanghai on Route 1 in Edison, NJ. Certainly have no qualms about trying both. Going away for a couple of weeks so it will have to wait. Daniel

I remember about 8 years ago i would go to this chinese restaurant in edison i think. It was close to middlesex county college. But what i remembered about it was how authentic it was. It would always be jammed packed with people, most of which were speaking chinese and ordering things off a seperate menu then the one i had. There was an eel tank also that was very busy. My mother and father never really liked the place too much, and at the time i had very little exposure to authentic chinese cooking. Anyway, I have asked my mother the name of the restaurant and she has forgotten. I think of this place from time to time and would love to go back. This place is in a strip mall i remember and its like 5 or 10 minutes away from middlesex county college. I would love to hear a review of this place.

I thought amanda complained about the decor and ambiance, while i bitched about the service. The night i went, my waiter did not have full understanding of the english language, any of the dishes he was serving, or restaurant policy. However i thought the food was really good. Desserts included. Amanda seemed to make fun of the decor that a few months prior Grimes seem to applaud. Who knows.. The only comparison that could be made between greenspan and hesser is there ability to rate restaurants appropriately.

Sawadee Thai Cuisine 400 Main St Metuchen NJ 732-549-8383 If you go friday night there will be a singer.. He actually wasnt horrible.. I would prefer to night have a singer, but whatever. Also down the street there is a pretty good ice cream place. Oh and the desserts were really good too. Had a coconut custard thing, and sticky rice with mango.. The sticky rice was really good.

I recently went to this restaurant in Metuchen called Sawdee thai. My parents live in EB and my mother has been on a thai kick lately. She has me traveling from South River, to Edison, and surrounding areas searching for the best thai. And among all these new places that have sprung up, non of them really seem to have gotten it correctly, that is until i went to Sawdee Thai. I went with a fairly large party so i was able to get a variety of dishes. We started off with the thai wings which were fried to perfection. Crispy and with an amazing sauce. I would compare them to the wings at Lotus of Siam in Vegas, baby Vegas. We also had the beef and chicken satay, which is as good as i have had anywhere. Also tried the fried crab sausage in a sweet and sour sauce. My least favorite appetizer, but i would happily eat them on any occasion. We also ordered pork spring rolls which i didnt eat, but everyone said they were terrific. We also had a vegetable soup which was great. For entrees we got Cat Fish in a cho chee sauce.. I really really like spicy food. In fact i often am disappointed at the heat of thai restaurants because the thai peppers can only reach a certain heat level. So, i often look for thai places like LOS that will cheat and use habeneros as well. But everything at this place is served pretty hot to begin with. So i ordered the cat fish as hot as they would make it, and after several minutes of the waitress warning me that she would not take the food back, she placed the order.. All i have to say is that it was perfect. They must use habeneros too. We also got the Beef Penang which was fabulous. The drunken noodles which were the best i have ever had. And the pad thai which was love as well. There were a few pork dishes which i didnt eat, but everyone was raving about this place. I would highly reccommend this place to everyone in the area. I would say its worth a half hour drive to get to. My only warning would be to watch out for the spice. There normal heat is still pretty hot. And medium is most places 10. Daniel

Can anyone guess when the times will be review per se. And about how many visits do you think they will make in order to review it properly. And would this include visits during lunch?

Oh? Should it say "cheddar style cheese" unless the cheese comes from Cheddar, England? "Cheddar cheese is a type of cheese originally made in the English town of Cheddar, in Somerset. Cheddar-style cheeses are produced in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, New Zealand, and Australia. Cheddar has perhaps always been the most popular cheese in England. A pipe roll of King Henry II records the purchase of 10,420 pounds at a farthing a pound. The term Cheddar is also used to refer to a family of hard aged cheeses. Cheeses such as Gloucester, Cheshire, Leicester, Stilton, Lancashire, Derby, Wensleydale, French Cantal, and Caerphilly all belong to the Cheddar family. Cheddaring refers to an additional step in the production of cheddar-style cheese where the curd is cut into cubes, stacked, and turned" According to www.free-definition.com you should. I tried to see what there definition of kobe beef was but got caught up reading kobe tai's bio.

This place not so good. The service was excellent. The room was pretty, but in terms of the view, wasn't too blown away. Ended up getting a great look at the biography sign. The olsen twins tonight at 8! Got the tasting menu with the wine course. It was certainly good, but great? I dot think so. Maybe I am tired of the Asian fusion but it certainly doesn't even stand out in that genre. The best thing I had was the dessert. It was like a foam cheesecake with blueberry puree on the bottom. It was really refreshing served with a Muscat. But I certainly could have lived without it. One thing that has been really bugging me lately is the lack of nice chopsticks at these places. All these places hand out these broke ass wooden chopsticks. They took the time to get the german flatware, they have thirty dam forks on the table, three spoons, gorgeous little wooden boxes to keep all the food, million dollar bathrooms for christ sake,, and then they hand you these take out splintering pathetic chopsticks. Dont get it.

I was planning on reporting about the Beard House event tonight.. Plus, I normally get too drunk and forget key ingrediants. I think someone owes it to the board. Perhaps someone with better writing skills and a more refined pallet. Someone like i dont know a topic manager or something

Yowzah. Maybe if i didnt spend my lunch time writing on here i would actually check out a paper and not have to ask these easily answerable questions. So the question is, I am leaving for a trip for two weeks tomorrow. Do i keep the reservation with the california trio tonight, or do I go to the tasting room. They had a 745 as of 20 minutes ago.
