  1. From now on i am strictly carrying the bottle out to the curb with me.. Ask the waiter for a brown bag and tell him i will be back in 5.
  2. Just stop them: not yet thanks will do it. I certainly do.. But I am not always on gaurd. Plus I am a smoker in Manhattan, so there is some time when i am not there.
  3. One thing i have noticed some waiters do which I really hate is: They over fill my wine glass to make the appearance that we finished the bottle.. Meanwhile, we are both holding a half a bottle of wine between our glasses.
  4. Hey shak. Can you elaborate more on verdura.. Things to order, or general feelings.
  5. Hey now.. I made it.. Took the southern route. Had a lot of time, spent a almost 16 hours in New Orleans. No tickets.. Pulled over once. Didnt eat at a chain, actually had to try one mini burger at Krystal. Since i covered a bunch of different regions should i write the reviews here or in the appropriate states. Have a bunch of pictures. went to 14 restaurants or so.. Where should i post this?
  6. How about Yonah Shimmels Knishes, Rubens Empinadas, Kosars Bialy's.
  7. Philly Slims? I havent been there yet, but i would reco Woogies.
  8. Ok. Havent gotten too much help here in terms of local stop recommendations.. But i certainly appreciate your well wishes.. I am off tomorrow.. I will post pictures once i get back in a few weeks.. Thanks for the support.
  9. Out of curiousity, what dont you normally like about indian food as compared to your experience this time.
  10. Eh.. The tabla i was referring to is a Danny Meyer restaurant in manhattan which i think is terrific.. This tabla, is in a strip mall in and not affiliated..
  11. I will definately check this place out personally.. I just need to take a client out to dinner and he wants to go to a Indian restaurant, i know that he prefers scene over substance. I was happy to do a search and find that there is a Tabla in Vegas as well.. I think i might check this place out.
  12. Sorry, but i made an effort to find any vegas thread that dealt with Indian cuisine. Can anyone recommend an amazing Indian place in Vegas. I am looking for upscale, but obviously i will go where the food is best. Uh thank ya very much.
  13. Still hung over at 4 pm.. Haha. Sound like a good night. McDonalds and beer helps me.
  14. I am sorry the place wasnt called aqua its called due. The grapa was better then i thought.
  15. Just went to Aqua tonight which is attached to Verdura cucina rustica .. If there is one restaurant which really fascinates me its Verdura. I rarely visit GB and am always here at off times. But the menu looks very impressive and the space looks great. The James Beard award in the window doesnt hurt either. I arrived at the restaurant around 11 pm and the kitchen had already closed. So we decided to go to Acqua which is inside of Verdura cucina rustica. Aqua seemed young and non snooty hip. There was a jazz band playing and the place had a very cool vibe. They were serving from the late night menu which although was small, covered a lot of bases. We ordered a bottle of cab, a fried oyster arugala salad, and a mushroom pesto pizza. The salad came with local tomatos which were excellent. In addition to the salad dressing there was a orange mayo served on the side which went really well with the oysters. The pizza was done really well. Crispy, perfect amount of pesto, with beautiful plump mushrooms sliced thick. They have a rather large selection of grapas to choose from. They infuse some of their own. I had a apricot and a chamomile grapa. I prefered the apricot, my date prefered the chamomile. It worked out well. Had a home made vanilla ice cream served over a blue berry and oatmeal soup served in a small circular dish. Awesome. I was surprised at what a great find this place was just 20 minutes from the secluded area i was staying.

    Otafuku

Sorry my mistake. I think it was the cabbage they used that made me think it was potato.. There is no potato in the dish. doh
  17. Went to Lan last night for dinner and passed this little hole in the wall while i was on my way to Chikalicious. It was this little rectangular place that had enough space in it for about 4 people and a small grill. They were serving few things in, Otafuku, the small japanese take out place. They were: TaKoyaki, little fried wheat flour balls filled with either octopus, cheese, or just plain dough.. The prices were $5,$4,$3 bucks for the different fillings. Okonomiyaki, potato pancakes mixed with either pork, shrimp, beef, or squid.. 2 Decent size pancakes for 7 bucks. Seafood fried noodles for $5 bucks Shaved Ices- Strawberry.melon, lemon, or mizore. $3. They place smelled absolutely wonderfull, definately something i need to try before i stuff my face with uncooked kobe beef that never made it into the shabu shabu pot..
  18. " I see a cream puff and i wanted painted black"
  19. Hello, Welcome.. You mentioned here in town. Where exactly are you from.. The sandwich sounds really good, they baked it though they didnt press it on a grill?
  20. Thats a great site.. I loved the pictures. I dont know why you ranked better burger so high.. I hate that place and everything it stands for with every fiber of my being.
  21. Haha.. As long as its good pasta no worries. Also depending on the dish you dont even have to heat it.
  22. Yeh, utah does not sound like my kind of place.. I went there in Park City when i was younger and before i had such "adult" interests. But i am taking the southern route. I made a mistake, i will be sleeping night one about an hour passed tuscon. Do people think i can make it from an hour outside of tuscon to Salt Lick before they close at 10 at night. I will most likely be leaving at 6 am.
  23. Whats the story with the hot dog places tommy's and jerry's. I am not speaking in terms of the brand of hot dogs or the way they make them. I am speaking about how two hot dog stands happen to open right next to eachother in elizabeth. As well as having names referring to a cartoon. Are they related, who was there first, has anyone lost a life over this?
