  1. Tongue on burnt rye w/ lots of deli mustard.
  2. On a different note.. Does anyone know which states along the trip dont have open container laws in them.. I remember when driving from AZ to California in my friends car there are states out west where a passanger can drink in the car..
  3. Interesting. I would have thought that the shells would mean more fiber and make the stools loose. I have heard there were also severe problems scratching caused by these shells. Haha. I never thought i would have an appropriate time to share that little gem of knowledge to a large group. HAHA.
  4. This thread was a result of that times article as artichoke had stated.
  5. If there wasnt a demand, these places would quickly shut down.
  6. My favorite place in Jersey for hot dogs is Jerry's in Elizabeth.. My favorite place to go for hot dogs and burgers is Hiams. They serve beer, have pretty good burgers and the staff that works there use to be the old owners till they lost the place while betting on the world series. The place is filled with degenerate gambles, present company included. Its fun to go during football season, just keep your hands off the payphone.
  7. Hell, I once jumped out of a perfectly good airplane to get to know a girl, so who am I to criticize? I also wanted to tell esthers that another one of my friends parents told me to go on the roadfood website this weekend. The site seems really helpfull. Tested out the site this weekend while in upstate new york. They know their stuff. Haha.. Thats pretty funny. Just as long as she didnt jump out of the plane to get rid of you.. Just kidding, I like how you phrased that "a perfectly good airplane"
  8. Thank you for the advice, but i am going to stick with the southern route. My friend just went from New York to Atlanta in a day, so i think i will be able to save some time in my over planning for that time limit. Another thing is, i need to go to the Salt Lick immediately! For that experience alone, I am willing to put myself through the grueling experience. That and buying a jackalope in that souvenier shop on the way to the grandious canyon. Also this girl told me about a place in texas by Bass Hall where you drink margaritas in the backyard and all they sell are fajitas and something else?Anyone know what she was talking about
  9. I would certainly count falafel. I would like to see a couple of balls mixed with gyro, FF, L, T, HS,WS,O,. I also would like to add: 1)summer sausage aka lebanon bologna on buttered white bread with potato chips. 2) Also chicken keiv on ciabatta bread with l,t,m,o.

    Il Buco

I luckily didnt have that problem. I also just walked in. I sat at this long bench table and it was really pretty. The only problem i had was over hearing this obnoxious guy on a blind date trying to impress his date by telling her about his boat and parents money. I think this shmuck was wearing an ascott. The bar was crowded however.

    Il Buco

I went to Il Buco last night and had a terrific meal. Me and my date split 4 appetizers and one entree and every thing was terrific. Last night through the help of the waitress, I discovered a drink called acqua di cedro (a lemoncello grappa cousin) so I might be leaving some things out. To start we had these cod empenadas and pizza with some type of vegetables. Cod thing was in like a puffed bread pocket. The bread was cooked perfectly and the cod was this delicious salty cod salad. The pizza too was done really well. The flor de sal and the olive oil the provide was a great addition to the pizza. Then we had this fig salad with bitter greens, ricotta salata, crisp pieces of serano ham, in like a vanilla flavored dressing. The figs were ready to burst, just so so flavorfull. I think this was my favorite thing of the night. We were also served a summer truffle lamb carpaccio. Life is good. For an entree we had a beautiful stuffed ricotta ravioli in another truffle sauce. It was surprisingly lighter then i had anticipated. The pasta was home made, the cheese was super fresh. For dessert we had this cake made with orange zest and olive oil served with a fennal gelato. It was really refreshing, and the gelato was fantastic. After inquiring about lemoncello, the waitress instructed us that the owner is really into freshness and didnt like most lemoncello's that put sugar and additives into the drink, so we should try the acqua di cedro. Regardless of me not buying the lemoncello quality nonesense, i tried the alternative. Well, 4 glasses each later, I began to buy her story.
  12. Can you please break down the contents of that sangwich please.. I might just start watching sports.
  13. What is telera? I am sorry if this is a common thing, i being an east coaster have very little contact with any good mexican food. Assuming that telera is mexican. I had something that reminds me of your sandwich kind of. It was because of a wrong push of a button at a vending machine in the middle of no where in illinios. It was a sub sandwich served with refried beans on the bottom, jalepenos and monteray on top and mayo. I just assumed it was a grilled chicken sandwich until i took the first the bite when I unwrapped it after taking it out of the industrial sized microwave. I dont if it reminded me of the days eating the 7 eleven truck stoppers as a red eyed youth, or the idea of using the vending machine. But it was pretty dam good.
  14. Wow.. Would you put any type of dressing on that.
  15. My grilled cheese of choice these days is with truffle butter and gruyere. But i must acknowledge how awesome that turkey shiitake sandwich sounds. Is this shiitake stuffing w/ cream recipe a heavily guarded seceret. I think i might have some royalty in my family, I am not positive, but I am pretty certain.
  16. I was expecting a little basil on that bad boy too! Wow bacon cinnamon grilled cheese. Thats a new one to me.
  17. Do you go with cheese on that? Roasted Red Peppers or marinated mushrooms
  18. Yeh, white sauce is like tzatiki sp?
  19. Oh sorry got caught up in the trucks.. The difference between the Italian and fat cat is the pepper, onions.. Like if you get an italian hot dog it comes onions, peppers, and fries. Fat is: L,T,FF.. Also on all fat sandwiches i believe it is crucial to go white sauce hot sauce, bacon.

  21. While sitting here eating my turkey w/ roasted red peppers on provolone , proschuitto bread, I wonder what other good sandwiches there are out there that i havent tried yet. Yesterday, I ordered something called an Italian Cheeseburger Sub. It was several cheeseburger patties on a sub roll lathered in mustard and mayo with peppers and onions. It was then topped with cheese whiz french fries swimming in ketchup. It was a little too much , but the fact that it was something new. I want people to post their favorite sandwich or their must uncommon sandwich. For example what is the best italian meat combination. Dressings and whatever. Just looking for new ideas for lunch.
  22. http://www.roadtripusa.com/us_80/index.html Just found a really cool site.. This pretty much tracks the route before we break up North of the 80 Route.
  23. Yeh i am pretty flexible.. I should have said the only thing i do know for sure is that i know nothing. Since making up this route provided by Mayhaw Man, we decided that we arent doing UTAH. We are going to the Grandious Canyon and then on to spend night one somewhere in Arizona. I think Phoenix was where we are spending night one. Lunch in El Paso, then Dallas we would sleep night two. Then i think there is a sleep in either Montgomery or Atlanta for night three , then Saturday night(night four) we end up in D.C. D.C is a short ride home.
  24. Good god, a marshmallow phosphate sounds good. I figured out the southern route last night with my co-pilot. We are heading through towns like phoenix, el paso, dallas, shreevport, montgomery, atlanta, dc, philly, and then home sweet home. AAA wouldnt let me copy the trip so its still in her computer. But the total hours of driving is 51.. And this is at an average rate of 55. So i dont think i am going to have a problem. We worked it out that we would be waking up in DC Sunday morning. Which still gives me time to eat a gyro at marathon deli, at the university of Maryland, a philly cheese steak 3 hours later in philly, and get me home by the Simpsons.. Ahh life is beautiful.
  25. HAHA.. Yeh she is from Manhattan and never drove a car before. However, she is legally capable of having one however. Daniel
