Lovebenton, Tuesday nights dinner looks awesome.. Thats really cool that the majority of the food is either from scratch or your garden.. Very impressive, its like you are living in a kabutz over there.

Whats the brand on that Cnut Milk? Thank you.

I was reading into that okayyyyy a little too. hehe.. I had the feeling she was trying to hold back her criticism in order for me to go with an open mind.. But if thats the case, please feel free to criticize away. I would rather be wary and surprised, then be excited and let down. I have searched the board and have not seen a discussion on Morimotos. I would be very interested in seeing peoples opinions. In terms of sunday, I am sad to say that me and my brown bettie coupon will not be able to make it. I would have loved to have met you, but maybe Saturday.

Thank you for the invite Katie.. I think we are comming out friday night.. We are most likely going to leave manhattan around 8 or 830..I think i saw your place closes at 10.. But it looks like a good place to grab a drink in between lunch and dinner. I am already getting ready to take a hit with the bill from Morimotos. I am expecting it to be a better version of Nobu.. Either way that type of cuisine I could live with out .

Yeh.. I definately caught that mention also.. I have that in my Pittsburgh folder. Would definately grab a slice or a pie, but that will be an after dinner visit.

Oh i have another quesiton now.. In terms of me wanting to do grocery shopping in pHilly . . Is there like a Specialty or Italian Market, or is Redding Terminal the best place to bring stuff home for the week.
-
you do realize that these are about 15 miles away from each other, right? i mean, not that that should stop you from doing both things. but the barnes is out in the suburbs (for now) and the terminal is right downtown. so you'll want to plan that into your schedule. ← No i didnt... I appreciate it.. So i guess we will go breakfast, Barnes, Redding, drink, nap, dinner. Any place for a good breakfast by the Barnes.

Got them all at Kalustan's. On like 28th and Lex.. The kaffir they have at Citerella also.. But the kaffir leaves, galangal they have frozen, powdered and dried, palm sugar all is at Kaluystans. What are you using the Palm Sugar for?

I really love Steingarten's addition to the show.. He is the only judge that actually has given his opinion, as well as adding some entertainment value. I think its a lot more helpfull to the audience then having a Zagat crony describe a dish as being "good".. Thanks for the insight there lady. Steingarten is the Simon of Iron Chef and I hope they keep him.

I am sorry I should have known that asking about to towns in PA would surely bring some sort of rivarly. Well it turns out I am going to both places.. I will be in Philly next weekend.. Since my girlfriend and I started watching Iron Chef America, she wants to go to Morimotos.. So we will be there Saturday night. Saturday day, we are going to go to the Barnes Museum, and eat around Redding Terminal. Sunday, from these suggestions we are going to go to Tony Lukes and Jims. March 3rd or 5th we are driving across country. We are going to be heading through Pittsburg.. So I would really love a suggestion as what or where to eat in Pittsburg. We are planning on arriving around 10 pm and leaving the following morning.. Thank you.

In Manhattan the UWS there is a place called Ayurveda Cafe.. They believe in these same principals and serve one dinner a night.. I think all there servinngs contain something that is sweet, salty, spicy, sour, and bitter.. I have never been but it is certainly on my places to visit list.

Made the bbq pizza tonight.. It had a bbq sauce base using dreamland bbq sauce.. Added some dry rub ribs from blue smoke.. Chopped scallions, red onions, monteray jack cheese.. And very little smatterings of mayo. Came out good..

Mayo and Hard boiled eggs.. along with mozz and tomato sauce. I just dont like eggs myself. I think thats the rossini.
-
I am looking for that Rossinni recipe.. I am very interested in learning about it.. The guy seemed to be a character.. Rumor has it one of the only times the guy has cried was when he dropped a truffled stuffed turkey he was having for lunch over the side of his boat.

Ahh thats right the super bowl. That might be a good idea.. So I am assuming that the Super Bowl isnt being played in Philly then..

http://www.roadtripusa.com/us_50/index.html Going back to Vegas for another convention.. Again, I will be leaving on a Thursday and having to be back to work on a Tuesday. We were deciding between driving from Las Vegas to Seattle and then flying home from Seattle.. Or driving across the country again.. Last time was so much fun we have decided to do it again.. We are leaving on March 5th.. Was hoping for some great places to stop along the way. I really appreciated your help from the last trip. And of course will be documenting the trip like last time as well.. Daniel http://forums.egullet.org/index.php?showto...60entry770712

My girlfriend and I are deciding on a weekend trip to either Philly or Pittsburg in two weekends.. Which one do you think would be a more culinarily exciting weekend.. We are comming from Manhattan so the drive difference is pretty considerable.. Also if anyone could tell us cant miss places in either city it would be a great help.

While waiting for tonights dinner to cook, i thought it would be a good idea to try this marshmallow pizza.. Using the Todd English Pizza dough recipe i started to make your norma margarita. I then reluctantly placed a whole buch of mini marshmallows on top.. After trying it I was surprised at how good it tasted.. The marshmallow added a real sweetness to the pizza. It mixed well with the cheese.. It was almost like eating dessert and an entree at the same time... Very interesting. Thanks for the suggestion.

Tonight we made a recipe from our new Rick Bayless book, Rick and Lanie's Excellent Kitchen Adventures.. We just received it the other day and we saw a recipe titled, The World's Best Chili.. Now, I understand its a pretty big claim, but they were pretty close. It uses a paste made from Ancho Chiles, Tomatos, Cumin, and Garlic.. We added pinto beans, beef, and onions. It was quick, easy and really good. It certainly didnt hurt that it calls for frying the meat in bacon grease. We baked it later in a gratin and dipped chips in it..

Jason that pizza looks awesome.. can you tell me how to make that dough.

A perfect burger is a free burger preferably given to you by someone tailgaiting at some sporting event or concert.
-
I dont know.. I take my oil and flush it down toilet.. I havent had problems yet .. But always looking to pour the oil on any attacking armies.

OK.. Marshmallow pizza will most likely be made this evening.. Going out to dinner so sounds like a perfect dessert.. What would you suggest, the large guys or the mini's. And what wine would you serve with this.. hehe.. kidding with that
