  1. PICTURES, MAN, PICTURES!!!! please
  2. And for the desperately addicted, organize your kids, fill up a long card table with goodies at a local store entrance and donate the bakesale to your kids' school, even though no one else was doin' it!!
  3. binkyboots, you need to move to Billings! I just counted them up in our phonebook, and we've got 28 "assisted living" residences! That would keep you baking
  4. elswinger, you touched a definite soft spot...I miss many of those same products and places...B&M Bottled Baked Beans--yum. Sambo's---yum. Shakey's---yum. Double crusted potpies in tins---yum---those were a special treat when we were sick. And I know they are still made, but danged if I can get them---Heinz Canned Soups. Edit to add: Sizzler Steaks and Bonanza Steaks. The best salad bars of their times.
  5. I also forgot something that people using the small propane torches usually never think about. A welding supplier will have many varieties of 'tip cleaners' which are essential to keep your miniflame clear of carbon buildup. When you click and click and 'she just won't go', you need to clean it. These are very cheap, and a lot better than blowback from clogged tips. Totally serious here.
  6. If you do a lot of stuff in the oven and get tired of burns when you make contact with a place not covered by mitts or holders, towels, whatever, go to an industrial supply and buy a pair of welder's gloves. They are now way more available in the smaller hand sizes, they are cheap, and they WILL last forever, short of baking them in the oven. They are also superior as a fixture when smoking or barbequing. You can move hot stuff around--including your fire--without the precarious balance act.
  7. Can't let that flour get old!!
  8. My oldest daughter talked my youngest daughter into supergluing her lips together...
  9. Stupid damn people. Invasive species have caused more grief, and cost so much.
  10. These are all for whole milk, in a gallon: $3.09, $3.39, $3.89, and Organic, $4.99, in Billings, Montana. They are all up between $.35 to $.55 from last week.
  11. Wow, that's fascinating, thanks, all of you. I even know a little about Shavuot now...By the way, I liked the www.AskMoses.com, it's easy to use.
  12. You could always say about this being a cult that at least taking pictures is a lot easier than having to shave your hair
  13. Okay; if I had spelled it right I might have gotten farther.GG, I got that off the top of the page, but it's pretty cool. So, is this right, the hecsher is the mark with the U or K in the circle?
  14. Somebody help me, because that sounds good on one of my weird cravings nights!! I bet kiwi and peanut butter would go good too, and starfruit!! Stop me!!
  15. As per usual, I need some help; I went to ask moses.com, and the links on googullet, but I cannot find hechsered vinegar. I know I'm probably looking all wrong, but now I'm intrigued. Please edify me, someone.
  16. the part i liked was when he talked about how much women "like it" Yeah, than tried it on the pretty blond, she slaps him, then he walks off muttering about that lesbian!!
  17. Oh, yeah, I forgot about my mouth washed out with soap...nope, not for cussing, for sucking an indelible blue pencil...and I used to go to the granary that the different feeds were stored in and fill my pockets with water softener salt and Purina Dog chow, then go out in the 'house pasture' and alternately feed it to my favorite bovine, an enormous white and blue roan bull (named Gabriel for his horns), and eat it myself. I also broke hunks off the mineral block saltlick and indulged. Gads, kids are bulletproof!!!
  18. Mudpies...with Ivory dish liquid "Whipped cream". I was my mother's despair. Also any berry, fruit, etc. I got my hands on, which precluded a massive campaign against nightshade at my gram's. But then I used to crawl on the hay stacks and sleep by a milksnake who had her nest there. My mom nearly had a heart attack.
  19. You might also think about making enough copies that we could buy it ...
  20. I thought that if it was heated past 160* that killed the 'bugs'. But you can always raise the temp when it's time for your browning. Shoot, don't use that wonderful looking bird for a lab experiment... get a silkie and try it.
  21. Every once in awhile I need pork rinds and tabasco or I will wither away.
  22. Men...what do they know
  23. Hi, hathor... although the skin 'sticks' a little tighter on a wild turkey, are you going to slip some herbed butter up under it? That always helps with dry roasting. Or some good stock in the pan,and a tinfoil tent over to protect the easily burned parts? Don't mind my rambling, just trying to give you a lot of options.
  24. Oh yeah, his Yellowstone Brewing Company favorite is on ice. Although it may not be named the same in a while, for they are being litigated against by the distillery that makes that Old Yellowstone Whiskey for name infringement. They will probably lose, even though this is Yellowstone County, right along the Yellowstone River. The distillery is in Missouri, so, sic 'em Jaymes!!
  25. Thank you very much, MM ! I am going to surprise SO with that! He already had to spend two days on a lightning fire, so I think this sounds like just what he needs...
