I was looking through some old Rick Nichols columns I had stashed away and came across one about legendary fish buyer Tony McCarthy (at the time working at Neil Stein's Fishmarket on 18th.)

There was a passage that caught my eye;

"Fishermen 'fish the moon,' the bright nights when the fish feed longer. Full moons mean full holds and a rush to shore: You get good deals on the full moon. You don't want to buy, however, from the glut that's left a week later."

With that in mind, I thought I'd make an entry just before the full moon (Dec 5 2006) to alert PA eGulleteers. And if anyone thinks of it before each full moon, just make a short entry to bring this thread to the forefront as a reminder.

What happens when there's a lunar eclipse? I believe we're about to have one this weekend, but not visible in North America I think they said? It didn't make sense to me. We're all looking at the same moon, right? I was in the bathroom when I heard the news anchor talking about it, so I might have missed some of the salient details.
