I know this is one of those horribly commercial times of year that we hate to buy into, but...

it co-incides with my chocolate lovin' wife's birthday.

She especially loves Chocolate Covered Cherries.

Any ideas?

Cin Cin's new dessert menu came out this morning...

It includes...wait for it Ling...take home, handmade chocolates by all-star pastry chef Thierry Busset.

Have a glass of pinot at the bar while you wait...

Find me a chocolatier that offers that in this town.

Perhaps Purdy's? Although they seemingly gave up on orange peel chocolates a couple of years back.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Senses. Some of the best desserts and chocolate in the city. I'll also second Andrews recomendation of ANYTHING that Thierrry makes at Cin Cin's.

For chocolate covered cherries, you could try Over the Moon on West Broadway, just a smidge west of MacDonald. I'm not sure if they make them... but they might and they do make darned fine chocolates.

However, I'm with Foodie and Peppyre about Chocolate Arts, mmmm... carmelita.... mmmm... rhubarb rhapsody.... Sorry, I digress.... I just may have to pop on over today  Did not make it .... {sigh} Weekend's comin' soon...

Edited (because I'm a dork and also to add): today while I was picking up some veggies at Apple Farm on Broadway (side track... love this place - 10% off on Wednesday btw) I figured that while I was in the neighborhood, I'd check in at Over the Moon to inquire about chocolate covered cherries. They do indeed have them..... I believe the gal behind the counter said that they had pits, so if you are looking for the maraschino cherry kind then these won't be the ones for you (well, for your wife). If she likes “more rustic” chocolates then these may fit the bill.

Always take a good look at what you're about to eat. It's not so important to know what it is, but it's critical to know what it was. --Unknown

Was just at Senses today, picked up a couple of the truffle hearts. Don't recall seeing anything with cherry in their regular selection though.

Does anyone know if you can just walk in and get the Cin Cin chocolates to go? I work about a 15 min walk away so I could go down at lunchtime but I don't think I have time to eat, unless they're super quick.

I talked with Theirry from Cincin yesterday.

He informed me that he is ready to go with the chocolates.

He also said that this is a bad time of year for the cherries, since they are more of a Xmas item.
