And, finally, the game. The real (ostensibly) reason to tailgate:

The UM Big House is the largest college stadium, seating almost 112,000.

Ahhh, now I see why the "tailgating" event is lost on me. See, in Canada, we don't even get that many people out to a PROFESSIONAL football game, let alone a college game. That is truly amazing!

Wonder if we can get something like that going before a hockey game?

Danielle, tailgating sounds like a lot of fun. So, you & others all bring & cook stuff, do you eat only what you bring, or do you tailgate crawl and eat/imbibe with others?

No reason you can't tailgate before a hockey game -- in Tampa :raz:

Seriously, so long as you're willing to put on lots of layers, you can tailgate at any time of the year.

The more people the better, You each bring Tables, Chairs, and cooking stuff for what your doing. That way no one has too feel like a caterer. Or each week someone else brings the BBQ and the cooking trailer.

Basically, we eat what we bring. If we run into friends, we might snack on their food, and when people get tipsy, they do start offering things around. And, everyone seems like a friend, at that point as well.

Thank you for the fun blog, Danielle. I love how you worked in the tailgate for your finale to tie everything all together.

i have never been to the University of Michigan stadium..Wow, 112,000 people, Thats one heck of a large crowd. Im from Minnesota and i've been in the Metrodome when they have had a full house at 55,000. 112,000 would be something to see.

Add my thanks to the list, Danielle. I am impressed by the gorgeous tasty food you manage to make with a little one underfoot, and am also happy to have experienced a football game/tailgate scenario without so much as entering a grocery store or donning a warm jacket!
