Wine Shops in London or near

Hi all, I am going to be in London for one day in a couple of weeks. I was hoping to find a good wine shop with affordable prices. I know about the Berry Bros. type places already, was looking to find more of a large volume discount type shop. There are several '96 vintage champagnes not available here in US ( yet) that I hope to find.

How much do you want to buy? If you want to buy at least a case, you have a wider choice.

Check out Jancis Robinson's list of wine merchants, which is not limited to the UK. Actually, best to first check your customs limit, your/your entourage's weight lifting capabilities... have fun!

In England you have to buy at least a case from some wine merchants,

Majestic wines is a well-known example.

It can be a mixed case. They sometimes have some interesting deals.

Don't know about discount, but FWIW El Vino (a wine bar and restaurant near the Inns of Court, frequently mentioned in Rumpole stories) sells lots of wine, etc. You have to wear a coat and perhaps a tie to get into El Vino IIRC.

winesearcher says that La Reserve has it (which is a nice wine shop on Walton Street). Also Berry Bros and Oddbins.

But they might be lying.

Hayes Hanson & Clark (25 Eccleston Street, near Victoria tube) has 96 Pol Roger. GBP 37.25 for 1 bottle, cheaper if you buy a case. They also have a number of other 96 vintage labels...what else are you looking for?
