Jack Daniels, buy the barrel full!

That would be one heck of a party, no?

That's right, the whole barrel of Jack Daniel's premium brand Single Barrel for you and 239 of your closest friends. Each barrel averages about 240 bottles, all of them 94 proof.

A fun Courier-Journal article here.

Cheers!

Interesting how much more expensive the Jack Daniels barrel is compared to the cask offer from Bruichladdich. That said, to be fair, it sounds like the JD barrel is already aged and ready to be bottled whereas the owner of a Bruichladdich cask would have to wait at least 10 years to realize the fruits of his investment.

Rather than bottling, I wonder if they would be willing to put it into smaller casks where you could end up with something spectacular at the end of your bbl? (if you make it to the end without a liver transplant or some other life threatening health problem :raz: ). It would be cool if they could put the whiskey into Pins (4.5gal) or Firkins (9 gal) and give you the ability to go for the "superaged" whiskey.

I recently got the opportunity to sit down and taste whiskey with Lynne Tolley, Jack Daniel's "Master Taster" ( what a great job ) She also happens to be Jack's Great Grand Niece ( guess it's in the blood ).

It was quite a revelation, having drunk wine almost exclusively for the last 10 years or so, with the occasional single malt or armagnac, it was very interesting to taste the whiskey so analytically. Especially comparing it against other whiskey, un aged Jack and un charcoal mellowed Jack.

Maybe there's something to this brown liqour stuff...
