I was just at Dahlia Bakery & saw the blurb fr. this month's BA about his magnificent ice cream sandwiches. Unfortunately, BA does not provide full copy of its articles which of course makes it impossible to promote them in a blog (stupid media types). Would any one have the Fish for the 4th article in digital format or at least the image of the ice cream sandwich available to use as an accompaniment to my post?

Bon Appétit Magazine Digest - September 2005 – 12th Annual Restaurant Issue

If I had the time and the money I would cook my way through this whole issue.  Rarely do I find a magazine with so many recipes that appeal to me.  This is a keeper and that cover photo still has me drooling. :biggrin:

The recipe for cherry fig brownies from Petite LuLu is amazing. They will become my signature homemade brownie. There is leftover fig jam that I will swirl in coffee cake or stick in thumbprint cookies. Anyone with even a passive liking for chocolate must make these bronies.

I made the Beer-Battered Mahi-Mahi Soft Tacos with Coleslaw and Avocado Sauce last week. The coleslaw and the avocado sauce were the perfect accompaniment, but I had a real problem with the batter/coating on the fish. I had my fryer set to the exact right temperature, and the batter ended up sticking to my fryer basket even though I was careful to let my fish build up SOME crust before actually dropping it into the basket. If you make this I recommend using your own fried fish batter.

Bon Appétit Magazine Digest October 2005 – “Autumn in the Wine Country”

There’s a great cover photo of a Chocolate Custard Tartlet in Almond Cookie Crust with Saffron Ice Cream (recipe page 150).
