Looking for something else, I just refound this topic which had slipped my memory. I'm now wondering how your Chinese cooking investigations are going a year later, if you don't mind relating.

It was fun while it lasted, about 8 months. I still prepare an occasional dish, but not often. My main issue is sourcing ingredients here in Colombia, particularly fresh meats, fish, and vegetables. The other stuff can mostly be gotten online. Couple that with being retarded and lazy when it comes to cooking. However, I was recently able to prepare one of my favorites after a trip to NY and finding everything I needed – lion’s head meatballs. Eglutton was a big help and my best resource - thanks to all who chimed in to address my newbie questions.
