Yesterday, while having a brain fart, I mixed the frozen Bacardi lime margarita mix with dark rum instead of tequilla. Actually, it was pretty good. Does this drink have a name?

Sounds similar to a Caipirinha or a Ti Punch, but made with dark rum. The key being the lime flavoring. Probably closer to a Negro Mojito but without the soda and mint.

I'd call it a Rum Margarita.

I'd call it a Havana Sidecar. And I think I'd be right

(Edit: I was assuming triple sec/cointreau was in there. I dunno what's included a margarita mix. I usually squeeze limes ...)

I love these titles! I didn't add anything to this, but with what's left over, I think I'll add some triple sec and see what the result is. Stay tuned!

Well, as luck would have it, I'm out of triple sec (and Cointreau). However, I had a bit of apricot brandy in the cabinet. Poured some into the mix with a little more crushed iced and blended. Not bad. Still can taste the citrus, but also the fruit. Sounds like it may be the true 'bacardi brain fart.' LOL.
