Brand Choice-Non food related issues

Reading the Heinz-Hunts thread it occurred to me that I know people who buy or avoid Heinz because of the connection to Theresa Heinz and her husband John Kerry.

Are there companies that you favor or avoid because of such connections...or perhaps because of a corporate position on an issue close to your heart?

There are definitely brands and products that I avoid because I dislike some aspect of their policy/production/marketing, but I tend to research very carefully before making this sort of decision. Not naming any, however, because one person's opinion is... just that .
