i wonder if the waitstaff has to recite 25 specials at this place, as they do at bellisimo's. there is nothing more annoyingly ineffecient as this practice. raddichio in ridgewood does this, and it is reason enough for to never darken their doorstep.

but it's good to see that you found a review that didn't send you off of the deep end.

I think this place is where La Dolce Vita used to be. They had the old stand-by dishes down, but didn't really get into anything contemporary or interesting like Vivo apparently does. Sounds like it's worth a shot in you live nearby.

Oh, I know nothing about the restaurant. I just liked the way the review was written. Tying the coffee thing throughout as a kind of sub theme. Adding criticisms where needed and quickly moving on to the next thing. He likes the long specials recitation. I don't. But that's okay. I Just thought the piece read pretty well as restaurant criticism. I like the way the piece flows and the lack of pedantry. I'd like to see more of it.

Vivo in Lyndhurst -

has anybody been there since the review? sounds like a nice place, and I'd best most folks in town know their Italian food

Apparently it's easier still to dictate the conversation and in effect, kill the conversation.
