  1. That sounds delicious. My father got me hooked on raw clams at age 4. Love them to this day, especially the cherry stone and little necks we get out East.
  2. Sweet beans in some type of syrupy looking sauce just don’t appeal to me. I was eating raw clams at age 5. I just don’t think you can generalize American cuisine as it is really specific to the region one lives in. I mean I’d say Taylor ham and disco fries but those are Jersey things.

  4. Is this more of an era issue versus a mistaken opinion? I’m genuinely curious. My parents weren’t alive during WW2 so I have no clue about what was rationed on the east coast of the US. I never found British food to be bland during my visits there although at times I did avoid beef.

    THANK YOU. I recently met someone who, as a middle aged adult claims Rolling Rock to be their favorite beer. I’d rather drink bud lite. RR was the first beer I ever tried so it’s shocking I actually enjoy beer. I probably wouldn’t even use RR to cook with. I do love Yeungling though.

  10. No idea why this popped in my mind during a discussion tonight. I have never used the green can. My mother is half Italian and she lets me down at times buying shaved parm but I love cheese so I spend it on the real parm reggiano. Salty sharp and perfect with some butter and loads of fresh pepper.

  14. Enjoy everyone. I can’t stand it. Ironically my birthday is St. Patrick’s Day and my paternal family is 100% Irish. I’m definitely going to indulge in seafood or Asian food or both!
  15. Making my first attempt at congee. I had dental work done today so it seems like the ideal time.

I have a surplus of scallions and was considering using some of them up with this recipe: https://www.justataste.com/easy-scallion-pancakes-with-soy-dipping-sauce-recipe/ I was wondering if I could use my kitchen aid mixer instead of my extremely large food processor since the KA mixer is an easier clean up. Any advice? Any other suggestions for how to use up scallions?
  18. This is simply awful news. We had plans to have lunch once covid ended. She and her family are in my thoughts. I am too saddened by this loss to elaborate how kind she was properly.
