I do love puff pastry. I mainly use it to make a pizza. It makes a hell of a mess with the crumbs but my dog is a living vacuum cleaner.

They look gorgeous. I am just adverse to beans.

I really dislike ciabatta. I think it’s because I have veneers and it feel rough to bite into. I’m more of a potato, brioche or pretzel bun person and I know they all likely have more calories. I just worry too much to chance a ciabatta and I also think it could distract from some burgers but certainly not the delicious double posted above!
  4. I’ve had a hard time getting zero sugar Gatorade in basic flavors. I’m trying to stock up because I’m nervous my booster will give me a fever since my second shot did.
  5. It’s from Wayfair. Enough said. It’s like IKEA— I don’t have the patience or the ability to read sketchy directions to assemble anything from either place.

@JoNorvelleWalker where’d you source the clams from?
  7. The Top Golf suites are going to be a gold mine for them. Chef Burke was all over, talking to tables and explaining the whimsical names behind some of the dishes, we discussed a dessert. He’s an affable guy. I’ve met him years ago. The service and host station need some work, but again this was only their 4th night in operation. The steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly. I didn’t have the appetite (nor did my dad) after 4 hours of watching my cousin play varsity football (go Green Wave for those in the know, they lost) and hiking all over the campus. It seems like they have a LOT of investors who are standing around posturing and being useless. That bothered me. But again all of this is a learning curve. I will definitely be back. And I’ll add pictures once my dad sends them to me.
  8. With top golf and other games. It opened today in Morristown. I have a reservation to go with my father for Saturday night. The menu looks typical, but that isn’t a bad thing.
  9. Agreed. I think that’s what the author meant.

I like fried kale but that’s the only way I’ll eat it.
  11. You can just give it to me. I won’t have any issues 😊
  12. Interesting. I will eat most fish raw with the exception of uni— I don’t have a taste for it. Yet I’ve never had carpaccio but I would definitely try it.
  13. Bermuda is nice but if you ever get stuck at their tiny airport it is basically hell. all the vendors keep early hours and you’re just stuck there.
  14. I feel like this should be a group outing!
  15. Kusshi, Kumamoto and Beau Soleil.

You’re right I was mistaken. Love little necks. I miss smoking them on the BGE.

West coast oysters on the East Coast I have found to be insanely expensive even here in NJ. $4 per oyster. I pay it because they tend to be my favorites. I don’t like large oysters. Raw clams are much more reasonable and I love those too. At least the cherry stones.

You always have the best wines and sake.
  19. One thing that always struck me about David was his references to his mother’s recipes. You could feel the love and appreciation for his mom through his words. I like to think they’re reunited again. Every time I see this topic active my heart breaks a bit.
  20. I might have purchased a dove for six dollars back in the day. It was not a sober decision. It was the type of place where you pick out your poultry and they slaughter it for you but I just wanted a dove. I named it Dovely Lovely. They put it in a box with feed. I took it to a bar on a busy Friday night. It caused quite the distraction. Even in my inebriated state, once we went back to my then boyfriends place and he tried to insist it could live in his garage I refused. I tried to let it go but it didn’t move very far. Definitely NOT my best decision or moment but yea, for a few hours I was the somewhat abashed owner of a dove. My twenties are full of crazy stories. I have never eaten dove although yours look delicious Shelby.
  21. A bartender last night told me there’s a glass shortage; they’re not getting certain Mexican liquors and beers despite placing orders. It’s always something.
  22. I’m speechless. What a profound loss for our community. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.
  23. I’m having issues with instacart. The app claims to deliver within in 2 hours or so but when I check out forget it. It’s at minimum best a days wait. I’m wondering if this is a result of the Delta variant.
  24. I tend to tip in cash during the holidays. While I could absolutely give the people I tip (mail person, garbage people, landscapers etc) with a homemade lasagna, I am unaware of their allergies and preferences and you can’t go wrong with cash.
  25. I’ve used Instacart for years. Once I get an alert the my shopper has started I am firm with the chat feature and clear about replacements I am willing to accept. I also tip over 20%. The heavy bag fee sucks but that is a big reason that motivates me to use them. Obviously I am fairly lazy!
