  4. I agree. And at the end of the day... it's just food. It is very hard to learn a menu, and I'm imagining yours is extensive. It's only when everything else becomes second nature that you'll stop burning cheese. Don't rush it. I love burned cheese!

  6. Well, then the customers don't really know what they're supposed to get anyway! Don't feel badly about the other chefs. It seems to me if the kitchen were running well, you wouldn't be having this problem.

    Please, do tell! Though I think duck is a little too high brow for this event, I'm stil interested. I think the point is that when the bearer of the dish asks who wants, you duck.

    I was just at the Fancy Food Show, and one of the companies was serving duck samples. But they were taking the skin off. I was so tempted to ask them if I could have it! Can you imagine a giant bag full of duck skin?

  16. At the risk of stating the obvious, it's just vanilla or coffee ice cream with heath bars in it. They still sell heath bars.

  18. If you REALLY hate it, leave. If you're just feeling overwhelmed, stick it out. You'll get used to the menu. I always used to take a menu home to study it at a new restaurant. I'd still freak out, but at least I'd feel think I tried to make a difference. Yeah, right.

    What's for breakfast?

    I have been starting my day with olives stuffed with bleu cheese or jalapenos, prosciutto, ice cream, frozen hot chocolate, lots of hard cheeses, salsas, bbq pork, jerk chicken, bubble tea, ostrich, ginger preserves, duck, fruit smoothis, chocolate truffles, watermellon soda, pasta with vodka sauce, fondue, fried cheese, caramel/toffee/chocolate/white chocolate/cheddar popcorn, potato chips of various sorts, southern pralines, meatballs, caramel topping, Devon cream, truffle cheese, and peach juice. Light lunch.
  20. A friend on mine owns a pub. Sadly it got one scathing review. I liked it though.
  21. Whew! I was getting eat-out envy.... Just keepin it real. (deny temptation).
