  13. Hobbes, you poor thing! Sorry to hear about your bad experiences. Me, I'd work in any kitchen I appreciated in whatever way. Even the coroprate places can give you a ton of experience in speed, volume, organization. You can always shift after that. Well, that's just my opinion. Good luck.

  15. Tina Turner? Seriously... this person claims it was Hostess. Wait... Here's even more of the story. Apparently "Big Wheels" were identical to "Ding Dongs" and were also occasionally called "King Dons". Who knew? That person is clearly insane. Actually, Big Wheels may have been a larger version of Ring Dings or Ding Dongs (I can't believe I'm having this conversation). But we definitely had them as a kid here in NYC.

  21. Here is Morton Williams - Associated market site. You may have to click on weekly specials at the left. $5.31 doesn't go too far here. I just bought: 5 lbs sugar 5 lbs flour 2 lbs brown sugar 1 lb butter 1 dozen eggs for close to $12.00. I was not doing my normal sales scavenging.
