  2. @KatelynM, I can see that you will soon make many friends. Welcome! Here's one (of many) drool-worthy topics to check out:
  3. I'm making mashed potatoes! In one pot in the Anova steam oven in sous vide mode went 1280g sliced potatoes (1/4"), a pint of cream, and a stick of butter. The oven is set to 197ΒΊF, 100% steam for an hour. Here's the recipe. I'll let you know how it goes. Edited to add that the mashed potaotes were a bit too watery. But, I had converted the original recipe rather loosely. The mashed potatoes had dried sufficiently by the second day they were used. So this is a reasonable recipe/practise.
  4. Hello @emosier. I have no idea about anything to do with chocolate – except for eating it. πŸ˜€ I did want to welcome you. This is a great place – and you will soon make many friends.
  5. Minnesota has a large Somali community. See also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somali_Americans
  6. Today is Thursday and I'm going to a potluck on Sunday. Can I marinate store bought chicken in buttermilk (in the fridge) until ready to cook on Sunday?
  7. I'm so sad that political opportunism has real consequences. Going to Bulrush was a marvellous adventure –– and here I was hoping @Alex and @Chris Hennes would organize another field trip soon!
  8. I think the Marketing Dept is probably responsible for that!
  9. @weinoo, I looked at many of that list of "sandwiches" with great envy yesterday!
  10. For shaping some kind of pasta which will be filled (stuffed) in the space left by the green thingie. Possibly those metal prongies expand the space or something.
  11. Thank you @rotuts for your excellent diary!! 😁
  12. Seems like the app is doing a bunch of computing. So you'd need a standalone computer-type device? Seems a more expensive method.
  13. Larry, can you provide a link to the model you're thinking about?
  14. I'm eating it for lunch as we speak! 🀣
  15. @Shel_B, when you get interested in the Instant Pot say so on the forum somewhere and I, and others, can point you to some really helpful accessories for the IP. I.e. that could make cheesecake easy in the IP.
  16. That's what I think @Duvel said, but maybe we should wait until he confirms it.
  17. I think @Duvel was suggesting that you reduce the recipe by the number of whole eggs (i.e. divide everything by 7, then multiply by 3 (or 4) to get a half-size cheesecake.
  18. I just made @Tropicalsenior's New York style cheesecake in the Instant Pot. I did a million things incorrectly and, still, it was delicious!
  19. Jo, truly, I love you. Thank you for your adventures. They're so impossible that they're almost funny. I'm sorry for your troubles, and I will continue to read every darn thing you write.
  20. Hello @Roshani. Lots of great folks here, you'll soon have plenty of friends. Welcome!
  21. @Smithy, link doesn't resolve. This perhaps? (eG-friendly Amazon.com link)
  22. Who knew? Thanks!
  23. Thanks so much for this lovely trip to Ireland and the great visit with the charming Duvel family. Now I'm hungry, of course.
  24. @blue_dolphin, what does BLM mean?
