Very strange. And with cooked egg.

Missed breakfast due to an early appointment and came home quite ravenous after a wild cab ride with a driver who, even with the help of a GPS, couldn’t find a well-known and well-established medical clinic. I really needed a stiff drink but thought it better to eat first. Now I’m ready for the drink.

Among other things Mark Bittman thinks libraries and post offices should be distribution centers for fresh food and that anyone under the age of 16 should be required to produce ID to purchase soda pop. Here.

Thank you. I need to be a little more courageous when I tip from the banneton into the screaming hot Dutch oven because once again it landed badly. I do know all about slings and about starting it in a cold Dutch oven but this is my preferred method and I will continue to try and get it right.

Just one. I always only make one. I simply divide the quantities by two. It’s just so easy to do when it’s mostly in metric.

So I logged on to Amazon.ca this rainy morning and discovered that I can now order Whole Foods pantry items. No fresh food yet but I’m holding out hope. Not that Amazon or Whole Foods would necessarily be my grocer of choice but I definitely need some competition to the present home delivery service that I have!

@Chris Hennes Your French lean bread (with the accompanying sound effects) certainly looks very much like many no-knead loaves I have seen and made. Is there anything to distinguish “yours”? Never mind I see you have answered it in the other topic. Hate parallel topics.

Thanks. I thought the cross-section was larger than 4 x 4. Sometimes sizes are hard to judge. Does the book recommend particular pans for sandwich loaves?
-
What size pan was used for this loaf?

Not much cooking going to be done until I finish cleaning up from a small domestic catastrophe. Glad I had some leftover beef and was able to make a quick sandwich on a frozen multigrain bun. I dressed it with some mayo and some horseradish and enjoyed some Danish cucumber pickles on the side. Oh and to thumb my nose to the devil I enjoyed a glass of red wine.

You missed the point. It’s red. Much speedier than any other colour. Just ask @rotuts

Even into his 60s my husband loved a box of raisins in his lunch. And if I have to take the raisins out for some baking I can’t resist at least one handful. So I’m awfully glad there are raisin haters else they might be as expensive as halibut. -
No. No. No. we don’t want to know.

Like you, @liuzhou, I will be ungrateful for any tips or lessons. There are too many things I can cook to worry about those I can’t. Shrimp or lobster bisque Pastry of any kind Scalloped potatoes I bet there are more. I just can’t think of them.
-
What? You’re not intrigued by a red cake pan?

Such a pun deserves more than one.

Thank you. You are right the translations are wildly amusing. “ A generous itching of nutmeg”. It will take me a while to go through them all but I do so admire what you post that I’m sure I will be attempting some of them.

You do realize that we will hold you to this? I have added it to my day book.

I hope you wouldn’t be making martinis.
