I don’t think it’s unit conversion here. 1/8 of an inch does translate to 3 to 4 mm so something else is happening here I believe. It definitely should have been caught in the editorial process.

But that goes for so much of our country. Imagine if you were living in Nunavut.

Of course the water is petulant. I bet you are too now that you’re leaving France.

I had two reasons for posting about this recipe: a) The obvious measurement error which no one seems to have caught in the many reviews I have read. b) That such errors, however caused, leave me with little further interest in the book no matter its other merits. I doubt it will cause anyone actual grief since finding a bone-in steak cut 1/8 of an inch thick would pose almost as big a challenge as actually trying to cook it.

According to EYB (Eat Your Books) It is indeed in their cookbook.

Some of my hard cover books are no longer easily accessible to me. -

Not that I know of. I do a search for the book and then just add it to my own library. I had a scanner at one time but it was incredibly slow and not always accurate so I gave that up. I am wondering if you can have more than one library so that you could separate your kindle books from your hard covers. I don’t think it’s possible it might be something to suggest the EYB people. -

Thank you for the link. It’s a shame that the author seems to have been more intent on showing off his way with words and his aspirations as a comic than giving us a fair review of the meals. A dud lime could happen in any household but at least in most there would likely be a spare. Quality control matters in these kits. I, for one, would have been livid to find turkey substituted for the chicken that I was expecting! The cost of the kits in Britain would certainly discourage me. The appeal for me still remains the opportunity to try something I probably wouldn’t try left to my own devices. Frankly I am not seeing much of a future for this approach to feeding oneself or one’s family except perhaps under unusual circumstances.

And here is the link to the full recipe. Does nobody read these? Click.

Ramen — Hope it was good. Lacks the je ne sais quoi of Kenzo at least visually.

Here they are. Certainly they are in large urban areas but that should not be much of a surprise.

Whole Foods definitely has a presence in Canada. There is one that is a hop skip and a jump from my local Humane Society so I am very familiar with it.

The devil made me do it. Roasted green beans with a garlic and mint dressing and a border of mortadella ribbons.

There is! It’s called Eat Your Books!

Don’t even go there.

I know how upset I would be if I had access to the service and it was suddenly withdrawn. My sympathies.

Just a small quantity of pickled mushrooms. Can only hope they are better than the ones I purchased!

Very interesting. I looked up a couple of recipes and I’m tempted to give it a try as soon as I find something suitable potatoes.

Don’t you just hate how badly they are stacked so that just as you move by them one falls into your cart?

I could definitely get behind that sandwich. Edited to add that I also have that book.
